playing the games on the real thing??!?
hello, today i was searching for an old cassetes recorder at my place (doing some stuff related to audio/electronica) , didn´t find it but found my old zx48k ..
so is is possible to play this games we find here on this site in a real zx48k ..maybe with and audio cable connected between a laptop and the 48k and in the laptop making this files to run , like we do it on a cassete player? .. yes ? no?
other thing , i guess impossible, but let me be sure, .. if we can play it like that on a real speccy, there sno way to speed up the loading time like we do on an emulator, right?
thanks.

Yes, you can indeed. Be sure to turn off any audio enhancements (but keep any high quality settings - Spectaculator lets you boost the volume iirc, and SPIN has reverb/wide stereo). Pipe it straight out - I've managed that on numerous occasions.
Nope, unfortunately not. You can search the web for "UltraCarga" speccy games, which load a lot faster, but they can be very finicky with volume levels and such, and you'll only be able to play games that have been converted.
D.
I can't comment on most of the devices as I've only tried out a handful, but as a guide a complete system to load from a CF card will set you back around ?40.
Note tho' that most of the devices require a bit of work to build them, unless you can find someone to build it for you.
'Tis just a thought.
