Game: Farmer Jack in Harvest Havoc!

He's a couple of screen-shots of the game I've been working on for the last few months...

...I think the inspiration for it should be obvious!!

FogartyLee has kindly agreed to host the in-game shots, with the final version being available in a couple more months, with Lee_dC providing all the music & sound-effects.

Great, can't wait! It's a crime that the good ol' Speccy never had a decent Mr Do! style game, hopefully this'll rectify that error!

Will you be putting the games source code up onto Lee's (F) sinclair heaven site under the new projects section?
Would be a shame not to share the code with everyone so they can look and learn. :-)

It's doubtful that I'd make the entire source-code available for download - but I'm always happy to help with any programming queries.

Very impressed !!! I love arcade conversions and seeing a Speccy version of it. Been badly waiting for a Mr Do game for a long long time !!!

Cant wait to see the final release. If you do sell it please do it via Cronosoft though not R*******t ;)

It's not a direct conversion of Mr.Do!, as the graphics & levels are all different, and I'm currently toying with the idea of replacing the ball-gadget with a Bomberman-style bomb - I never liked the ball, way too "random" for my liking - what does everybody else think of that idea?

As for the final release, yes, the cassette version would (Simon permitting) most definetly be sold through Cronosoft.

We certainly would like to distribute the game :) I can say that I've played the 'work in progress' version, and the gameplay feels just right.

Just to keep you all up-to-date - this is very nearly complete now, and I'm hoping for a July release.

The bombs are in, as are all the 128K tunes & SFXs. Currently battling with a complete lack of memory as I'm determined to make this a 48K release which will also make full use of the AY-chip when played on a 128K machine, but I'm making steps to sort that, and any memory left over will be filled with more levels (there are currently 12 in the game)

Cronosoft will, as ever, handle the distribution of the emulator-image and the "real" tape version.

Cant wait for this game (Cant click on the screenshot links, says account denied). When i previously saw them they looked very good indeed.

What with GameX out and now this coming out soon (Make sure you email a copy to Darran at Retro Gamer for a retro review) its very exciting with new games for the Speccy.

Just tried the 3 level demo. Brilliant ! The game play is superb, finally the Speccy has a great Mr Do clone. The musics great, just very very polished !!
