Alas no! I'm working this weekend and it's my brother's birthday too. But when there's another, give me a shout.

Regards,

Shaun.

I'd love to know how many people who voted to meet at London aren't going now.
Oh bugger!
Well, it looks like I'm giving it a miss :(

It's just that I voted for Birmingham, and would have gone - but us Brummie voters got outvoted by people wanting to go to London, who now can't make it. Seems unfair somehow
Oh bugger!
With all due respect here, stop whinging about the location of this one and organise another one. While there may be people who voted for London who now can't go, exactly the same thing would have happened if it had been in Birmingham, Manchester or anywhere else.

With all due respect to you too Phil, at least one person would have posted saying "Yes, I'm going", rather than two or three saying "no, can't, sorry".

As far as I can tell, Starglider is the only one who's deffo gonna be there!
Oh bugger!
I'm jsut quietly surprised, considering the number of regulars here, how quiet they all are about if they're coming or not.

I will gladly go even if there's only about 5 or 6. but I just want people to actually say "Yes, I am going".

So far, silence.

Sorry. For some reason I'll be unable to attend... ;)

Starglider - if it turns out no-one is going & you're going to be on your own, come to Notts & we'll got for a drink here :)

Well it looks like no-one can make it then. So I will guess that it's postponed.

Damned shame, after all the date and location was chosen months ago through a vote.
• edited May 2006
Bugger. Because I was thinking of coming (despite missing all the votes and everything).

*sigh*
• edited May 2006
Well, as I said, I'd quite happily come if there's a few people.

Can people who *ARE* coming post here. Don't bother posting if you're not please.

I know it's rude, but again please only post here if you're saying "yes, I am coming tomorrow".

if you're not coming, please don't post to this thread. I really wanna know who is able to come tomorrow.

You mean like the people at here did? WoS isn't the entire Speccy community, whatever you may appear to think.

I should be there, tho' I'm not sure I'll make it for 1pm, coz it's a 2:30 hour train ride for me, and I'm out on the piss tonight. I'm not sure what most of you look like, so I'll get into the pub and follow the smell of burning rubber :)

As for the people who've said stuff like "oh, looks like no-one's coming", I should point out that this thread was started 8 hours ago, on a Friday morning. Some people have work to do, and as it's a Friday of a Bank Holiday weekend, I'm off work and have stuff to do which doesn't involve sitting in front of the computer for the entire day.

Geez, it's as bad as the people who post a question to the forums and then complain because no-one's answered within an 15 minutes.

just look for the big Willy - you'll see what I mean when you all get there!

I've just looked at the train details and SW Trains have decided to close Basingstoke tomorrow. This basically makes my journey time around 4 hours (!!). I'm looking at alternatives, perhaps going via Southampton or Bristol.
Unless anyone else is travelling up from Yeovil...

"The service between London Waterloo and Southampton Central will be withdrawn and passengers should use alternative train and bus services."
Grrrrr.

The shortest time I've found to get to London from here is about 3:30, which involves several changes, and getting a bus from Andover to Woking, and a train from there.
Still working on it, but I've gotta go out in a minute for beers.

So... I apologise in advance if I don't make it tomorrow to the meet - I'm trying to get there.
How long are people planning on staying around? All day I assume?

I think Waterloo & City Line is completely closed until September, which is a pain for me getting into London too, though I'm closer. I'm going from Reading to London Paddington (mainline), then Circle Line to Great Portland Street. So you might do better from some London station that isn't Waterloo, if it's possible from there.

Probably, in my case. The very latest I should leave is slightly after 10 p.m.

Ok, not trying to call a defeat, but it's looking unlikely that i'll make it tomorrow (today!?). Blame can be laid on SW trains for closing Basingstoke this weekend. I'm just back from an end-of-season skittles do, and the chances of me making it to london by 1pm are stupidly low. 4pm is possible, but there's no point considering i'll only be there for 2 hours.
So huge apologies to people who're wanting to meet me, the global superstar. Really. I feel like crap for letting you down.

And in case you think this is a fake email, it's taken me 15 mins to type so far.

I will be at the next wos meet - coz i wanna be there. I really do. Coz you all owe me a pint.

Fucking SW Trains.

Goodness. What the devil was I drinking last night? Strange.

Anyhow, hope the day goes well for the people who made it there.
