New James Bond Boxset
A brand new James Bond boxset is being released this month. Each film has been remastered and now contains two discs, making a total of 40. The whole thing comes in a silver attache case and it looks seriously cool. It's a pity that I already own all the films on DVD but I might buy this set for all the extra features and apparently a few of them are slightly longer than the versions previously released.

again myles triumphs over his mates who go out and buy dvd's straight away. now i get to buy the new editions and get the damn respect i deserve.
To me it just stinks of another cash in. No doubt after they sell this in another years time they'll announce another amazing super dvd version which everyone then has to buy again
Just dont keep the tapes in a plastic box or they could get sunny delight spilt on them.
ha ha ha.
"the name's Jones, Jones the Bond."
Someone pisses of either the British gov. or Bond
Q (or P) is it now gives Bond some gadgets
Bond drives a car really fast, kills the bad guy shags the girl but this won't be his first shag
don't forget all the advertising he does, for various companies.
of course that's how they stretch it out to two hours with ads
besides, how long is it going to take them to release HD versions? within 2 years i reckon, i'll wait for that
thats what a bond vilian would do.
Sigh ! Thats a really good point ! At some time in the future we'll get HD versions of every film out ! Then making our old 'crappy' dvd versions useless !
Come on be honest. Apart from maybe a few favourite films has anyone ever bothered to watch the directors commentary, alternative commentary, deleted scenes (half the time theyre deleted as theyre rubbish) or extended version with an extra 2 hours plonked on top of tosh and you think 'no wonder they cut it' ?
I've began to listen to the odd directors commentary which has been boring so i've stopped it, extended versions often had bits you thought 'no wonder they cut it' . The best bits for me are documentaries, eg the Shining has a great 30 minute or so documentary behind the scenes.
I thought Lord of the Rings was too long before, now to hear theres an extended version with even more ! Blimey it'll be up to 5 hours soon ! ;)
otherwise i tape a film off the tele.
Complete with overlayed silouhettes of the three people who made the movie, actually pointing out various things.

as far as Bond HD releases don't they have to be filmed in HD first?
yep, and the deleted scenes are over an hours worth of footage, and just as funny as the bits they left in! a class DVD all round, and just about the only one where I watch the "extras" as much as the original film.
this is probably vastly oversimplified (i.e. i'm not quite sure what i'm talking about), but the original film copy is scanned in at a higher resolution as to what it was for the standard DVD copy, at least that's my understanding
So what your basically saying is George Lucas isn't finished with my wallet yet
Nope ! I heard later this year hes bringing out the original star wars trilogy in their original form on dvd or something like that
coming out in September... but it's actually a re-release of the Special Edition Original Trilogy with the original theatrical releases as a bonus DVD. But they are going to be letterboxed, and not anamorphic widescreen, which means they are going to be pretty low res. Frankly I'm unimpressed.
Lucas has had enough of my money, for over 20 years I've been buying this stuff, but no longer. Again, how long will it be before the HD versions come out?
Besides, if you look on the web, you can find original trilogy DVDs on any number of torrent sites, laser disc rips, fan edits, that kind of thing. That's what I've got, and they're great! :D
I do regret getting rid of my original Star Wars films on VHS ! Would be quite happy to have those on dvd again but yeah Lucas is taking the mick !
(I did sell Living Daylights on eBay when it was rare for a time for ?51!)
