Actually, a lot of us could be eating some humble pie as I've dug deep into the Spectrum scene to find out that he was one of the top coders.

Awww man dont DO that !! I shat my pants !!!! :D

I don't participate in many forums or read through them very often, but the thread on the Atari site is one of the funniest things I've ever seen. I have to admit a sneaking admiration for the guy. To keep up the pretence when he has been so categorically been proved a liar in so many different ways takes a strength of character I certainly don't possess.

Yep its a very very funny thread, talk about digging deeper and deeper !

Perhaps it`s cos he`s a cider head, lol.... mebeez he actually believes he wrote all that stuff (and that ST game he didn`t write)... I just wish we could find another platform and forum where he`s said he wrote something else for and was proved wrong.

    Massively hilarious :)

This thread is just as exciting as Lost and as funny as Lee Evans :-D
Oh, no. Every time you turn up something monumental and terrible happens.
I don’t think I have the stomach for it.

The most striking thing was how long he had been making these claims for exactly.
In the 32 pages of his posts I trawled through (jeeze that took hours),almost from the begining he repeats the same thing over and again. Usually in a "don't argue with me... I'm a published coder" context. Early on he even included the ZX81 as one of his published platforms , but that dropped off the radar pretty quickly.

Anyway...any news of this PM he sent to one of us ? To Lee or Malc I suspect. Must admit I'm itching to know... :)

He told me in a pm that he will prove some stuff with screen shots when he has the time ...

Ahhhh......why he needed a PM for that god knows.

Seems like he has time for this though.

This little story is one of the funniest I've heard for a while. :D

Why on earth would someone claim to have written something
that they clearly haven't? What the hell do you get out of it?
Really, I just don't see the point at all....

This reminds me of a certain website that robbed files (maps) and claimed that "It may look like yours, but it's really mine. Yes it is! Believe me or else".
Yes, some people really are just that sad :-(

Ah, that Gamestage Denienced (or whatever) thread. I read the entire
thread about a week ago. The bit where he claimed to have made a map
but didn't even remove the actual authors name from it had me in stitches.

Not the rather suicidal looking one moping at the camera... but the one about to stick his face straight into a plate of noodles....

From last years jagfest in case you were wondering :)

Notice that his t-shirt has the word "rehab" on it. Maybe that's a sign? :D

Well I guess he feels the heat must be off now because he's changed his Profile DOB (again) back to an even more specific 21st of May 1977.

Matt B has just been called a "fool" on that thread by another poster though , so the laughing material , at least for the moment , continues ! :)

Nice to see that even the Commodore owners are leaping to my defence though.

Be even nicer if they leapt over a cliff

And nicest of all if they all landed on this Mr Kizza ;)

Gamestage, TKRAP, Where's That AY Chip, Cybor- well maybe not him (he does occasionally post something helpful) and now Mr Kizza. Imagine if they all posted on one board, say a troll's board - imagine the drivel that would be posted on that board!

I have a copy of Edge where the guy who coded NetHack in the 70's/80's for UNIX recites a story at a convention where an 11 year old kid tells him how he coded the game he wrote ten years before. He didn't shoot the kid down in flames which he must have been tempted to do.
  • edited August 2006
Heheh this kid wasn't a ginger noodle munching Lynx fanboy by any chance ? :)

I bet he would have had more to say if the kid had been 28/29 years old though.

 Oh Christ, I have a Speak & Spell somewhere as well - I'm half tempted to go dig it out and make it spell that out!

I really loved when Cybergoth (one of the mods at AA) gave him a final warning after that last "all WOSsers is trolls wiv no lives" outburst. (Great response from Computer_Classics as well).

He pretty much hasn't been heard from since.

    Hehehe "Now spell...... plagiarism"

Yes he's been a rather quiet boy for a day or two.
    Lesson learnt me thinks :)

    Awesome thread :D

I've had this before on another forum (Emutalk > This thread: http://www.emutalk.net/showthread.php?t=3439), one person pretended he was the author of a Gameboy emulator for a long long time. No one really gave much of a toss, then one day someone found out it was totally copied from an obscure japanese GB emulator (or something like that). Cue him then posting on his website that his Brother had died and he was giving up his project.

He was banned from the forum. He then gets caught out pretending he has written a PS1 emulator on Ngemu under a different username.

No idea why people need to do this, still it makes for a bloody good laugh when they get caught out and they just keep on digging deeper and deeper.

    Dead brother thread
    >http://www.emutalk.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=3344&highlight=brother

    Ngemu thread> http://forums.ngemu.com/web-development-programming/35259-how-spot-fake-emu-3.html

I'm guessing people like this must have some sort of mental condition.

Heheh cool thread Trotter.. I like the guys excuse line. " I was doing it as an experiment to see how long it would take before I got caught". So much more imagination than our boys "WoS are all trolls" comeback :D
