Magnetic Moon?

edited August 2007 in Games
Stuckstuckstuckstuck!!!!

I never had tryed Magnetic Moon before...And only had a 48k.
I'm playing the 128 port.

Anyone finished it, or can help me in the secound part?
I'm in level two found a bin in the locker room, a door that aparently doesn't let me pick it's lock unless an exactly right (picky, hum? :D ) phrase is used.

The help system in there doesn't help me much because I'm really tierd of writing things remotely related.

Thanks for the help! ;)

You might be able to find help or a walkthrough at the Tipshop, not sure of the URL but if you google it with the word spectrum it should pop up... Also quite a few adventure`s have been completed and are available at the rzxarchive (rzx being an emulator format for playing through game completions).

    good luck :)

Thanks for the help, but I've already checked around. No dice. :\
The only good one that coud help is a set of hints for all the three parts for the 48 port (some puzzles are diferent, room, help, etc) published in Sinclair User #126, but that exacly puzzle is diferent. :) Just my luck.

    Did you find the wire?
  • edited September 2006
Yup, but that was just used in then end of part 1, no?
I really wanted to take it with me, but I not only didn't had space and the game warned something about "why do you want to take the wire? It served it's purpose.".

Was the wire you were carrying "Stiff wire, about 150mm long." ?

Put the location description where you are and what you are carrying.

Are you here? "You're near the west end of the long, carpeted corridor..."

Ha, then there's another wire, hum?

    Possetions:
    Backpack
    forcer
    cutter
    paper
    glue
    grapnel+rope

I'm just out the duck after using the paper to find the way to the room. I have access to all of level 2 exepting for the messhall and the door. I can also reach level 1.

Also, the axe is suposed to be eleminated when getting out of the ducks, right?

Just a thing, if you're helping me, can you just hint me?...It's more chalenging that way. ;)

    Thanks a lot. ;)

"You're on a level part of the tunnel. At the side here..."

Have you been here? Can you get here? If so, go there.

Now I'm stuck in The sequal (also the 128K port) Starship Quest.

    There's another cell around?....Or a charger? Most likely I've once again didn't noticed a basic location. :\

Sorry to bump, but it isn't necessary to start another thread, is it?
    Thanks. ;)

    On the first part?
    Or a charger?
    Yes.

Right in the beguining...In the first tubecar station.

Where the charger is?...In the ship? I get caught by Pocks if I try to go to the lower level, the engine room or the starboard lifeboat...And I can only find aparent junk in the storage compartment (apart from the flashlight).

It's fairly close to the start I'd imagine. There's plenty of searching to do in this game so do it!

EDIT: I've just had a look in the archive and there's a solution of sorts that helps with many problems in this game. That should help you when you're stuck?

I did checked it....I wasn't shure because it's oriented for the 48K port and only mentions what to take from the ship, not where to get them. I also found a solution that might be for the Acorn or something and that thrown me even more off the road because it uses a secound cell instead of the charger.

I think I have to start to cut throught the plates in the ship to find it. Or kick the captain out of his confy chair. :)

No, it's much easier than that. It can be found on your fifth move from the start. Let's say you moved into the 'Ships Armoury'. Then you would 'Search Armoury'. Search everywhere!

If you get really stuck the use a utility like unpaw, then you can view all the ingame messages, items, and locations. It's what I did to finish it.
If you're still stuck then let me know and I'll see if I can solve it for you.

I don't know if Chicky is still around? So I'll quickly mention that he did communicate to me that he finished Starship Quest. He knew about Unpaws. I then challenged him to finish 'The 39 Steps' which he duly accepted but some other things got in the way and I didn't hear further. The challenge is still there though for any takers ;)
