Did "The Hedgehog" have other names ?
I was reading about the Super IC-12 http://www.nvg.ntnu.no/sinclair/audio/super_ic-12.htm , and remembered that I had an IC with such cooling-fins somewhere. I found it, disassembled the fins, and saw that the IC itself was named TDA xxxx (doesn't remember exactly).
The question is: Was the Super IC-12 ever sold under a "TDA xxxx" model-name ? Anyone out there that knows ? Or was the Super-IC 12 simply some other manufacturers IC that Sinclair "adopted" ?

He's not as crap as you all seem to believe. I enjoyed one or two of his games. :)
I exchanged a few emails with him a while ago. He's into novel writing now but still likes to talk about his Speccy days.

Hey now!!! Just because I like the ending so much that I tend to watch it backwards doesn't make me a second rate citisen from a third world country ... erm ... or something like that?

Hmmm, your usage of your superior eloquence and flawless logic has persuaded me.

misteaksmistrakesmisyaleserrurs— oh, sod it.There are plenty of "TDA xxxx" chips, many of them amplifiers. In particular, the TDA 2004, 2005, 2030 etc are high powered hi-fi amps.
Back in '71, I think it unlikely that Sinclair would use a custom designed IC for an amplifier - I'm not sure if the production/development costs of such a custom chip would be a viable option considering the small number of units likely to be sold. More likely he used an "off the shelf" chip and called it whatever he wanted. This is common practice nowadays, manufacturers using "house codes" on ICs used in their equipment rather than "NE555" for example.
