I will email everyone who pre-ordered, but you should PM me your new address just in case.
Thanks
Andrew
PS. The book is currently being printed :)
The delivery date for the books from the printer is December 14th. I'll get them sent out in the two weeks that follow after that.
So, not quite in time for Christmas, but hopefully it'll be something to read after you've all recovered from your New Year hangovers :)
Just wondering when you will be emailing all those who pre-ordered - just so I can look out for the email.
:( I was hoping this would be out in time for Christmas. Oh well never mind. I do hope you are going to make some money out of all this this - when did this project start again, early 2005?
I've just done a bit of perusing of the UK customs site and final checking of mailing costs, and spotted that (a) the threshold for customs is 18UKP, and (b) the mailing cost I've been charging is a quid too low...
So :) I'm going to rejig the cost of the book so that it's going to be 17.99 instead of 19.99, and the postage will be 3 quid more expensive (7.50 instead of 4.50).
That should take care of that :) I don't want people getting stung for customs charges unnecessarily...
Of course, the price change applies retroactively so everybody got theirs for 18 quid ;) and the postage was really always 6.50 and is just going up to 7.50 now...
Please make mine out to eBay ... it's erm ... my lesser known middle name ... oh, and please sign your name as Sir Clive Sinclair ;-)
You know Skarpo has a good point. You should list some on Ebay pointing out the limited edition. Lots of people on there I bet that dont visit WOS who would snap them up at a premium price.
Don't think anyone's mentioned this yet, but there's mini-preview of your book in the latest issue of Retro Gamer (The one with Galaxian on the front - picked it up tonight in Tesco). Hopefully it'll help promote the book among people who aren't regulars at WOS.
It might be worth posting on the Retro Gamer forum regarding ordering the book. RG lists the book's title, the ISBN and your name (and advises placing a swift order) but I had to hunt around for a while to find where I could buy it from.
My first reaction was to head to CompMan and Amazon, which are shockingly ignorant of this title... it took some creative Googling to find the right site in the end.

Hmm... I believe the url is in the article... but I'll take your advice :)

Hi,
The article has a link to www.zxgoldenyears.com but that's it; the context was specifcally with regards to pdf's of selected content, but with hindsight I should've looked there first...
It would have been amazing for xmas , imagine reading it all morning whilst christmas programmes play in the background , turkey roasting in the oven , still not too worry ! be great to look foward to in the new year.

Hope you make a bit of dosh on the side from it as i definately want you to do some more like this ! ;)
Heh! I'll be lucky if I break even after all is said and done... But, that's not why I did it :)
Andrew
One quick question. How did you decide which games to include?
Hope it sells well enough for a Vol 2 :)

Or something.
Andrew
I started by listing all my favourite games, then listed all the games I considered significant in a spreadsheet.
I pared that down to about 250 games, and then listened to a few people whine about their games not being included ;)
And that's how I did it...
As for a volume II... I doubt it... It would be kind of like ELO's Greatest Hits.
Volume I was great.... Volume II was good, but wasn't as good as Volume I.
I may do another book on the Speccy in future... It will just be different ;)

Edit: Not the Clive Sinclair thing though :)
Pity they didnt show what was in the book but either way i hope it boosts sales.
Hi,
I certainly did in this case - I ordered a copy as soon as I read the RG review...
:) I like this guy :)
It's refreshing to hear that!

never mind, post it to my parents and it'll be a late xmas prezzie :-)
Actually, I'm chatting with the printer trying to determine the exact weight of the book...
If it's under 1lb, I don't need to fill in Customs forms. Unfortunately it's calculated to weigh 1.02lb... :(
Incidentally, I received an updated delivery date... 18th December... "because the black ink takes longer to dry"...
Almost as bad as "Snow on the tracks"...
Andrew
And all of us in the EUROPEAN UNION - no need for that customs forms either.
