Has anybody got the instructions for this? I couldn't see them in the archive. It's one of those games where you havn't got a clue what to do without the instructions.
I'm not sure if there were any. I've got a 2nd-hand copy of the game, but in the box there's only the cassette and a poster with a load of manic ramblings on it - although they do indicate what to do. I was going to suggest checking The Tipshop - but it has no info on the game. In fact, none of the Spectrum mags published any tips on the game. The only additional source of info seems to be the reviews, which you can read via the Infoseek "magazine references" links.
It uses a menu/action interface, so control is straightforward, if tedious. You seem to be stuck with whichever character you select at the start. The general task is for your character to find their belongings and leave the house; each has their own particular container for their belongings (eg. bin liner for Vyvyan, suitcase for Mike, wheelbarrow for Neil, rucksack for Rick).
