Somewhat under half.. I don't have an exact count. :)
I'm guessing it'll take a while to bill, pack, wrap, and send the 500+ copies that have already been sold :)
I have visions of Andrew going into the local Post Office with a couple of massive crates waiting in a VERY long line of people who are sending out their Xmas cards/presents...

"Cashier number THREE, please..."
I'm planning on turning into a family party game a bit like pass the parcel...
Only the person who gets the book has to wrap it up instead... :)
Actually, the delivery is scheduled for tomorrow... I'm getting *really* excited... The printer told me the book looks great!!!
By the way, I've updated my web site... Still more updates to come, but I'm getting there....
Can't wait to get mine! It's been a long time coming, when exactly was it first announced Andrew?
Don't forget that you promised to sign mine, I know it was a long time ago now that we swapped emails in regards to the Crash scores!! But you did promise!!!!
How many have you sold so far? I was under the impression that it may be a sell out all those months ago, but if any are left I may be able to get in touch with an old friend who may still have some contact with some of the Speccy programmers. Hopefully they would be interested.

I was planning on buying a "gold ink" pen just for that very purpose... Although why you want my signature is beyond me :)

I've probably got about 400 or so left...
Or at least I would if the f***ers had delivered when they promised...
I still want mine signed also! (Steve in Huddersfield)
Me three! (Steve in Texas)
Oh and old_speccer, I used to ride my motorbike from Manchester to Huddersfield just to buy some chips!, chippies in Huddersfield still cooked em in beef dripping back then and no one did in Manchester.
I'm not worried about getting mine signed. The way I see it, the ones without the signatures will be rarer.
Sorry to hear about the delay in delivery - kinda screws up your plans for Christmas, eh? Well, I just hope I get mine by February 9th... will be good to skim through it during the raww.orgy.
Could be a blessing - just how much space will all those boxes of books take up?!
Boxes? Nope... they're arriving on a single wrapped pallette!
But anyway, on to my main point: Yay!!!1eleven1!
I just called the printers and they have a book that they're going to overnight me.... so at least I'll get a look at my own damn book before Christmas!
(And more importantly I can test envelope/packaging sizes and print out all the labels/customs forms)
Andrew
PS.. very funny thread here... brings back my old "speccies are better than commodes" days :)
Although I should point out that I have a greater appreciation for the Commodore 64 these days... :D
The one game I saw on the C64 that immediately grabbed me and made me wish there was a Spectrum version was Gryphon (Tony Crowther?)... apparently it wasn't that good but at that tender age I thought it looked amazing...
Also, Cauldron I and II are better on the C64 due to the smoother scrolling (sacrilege, I know ;) )
Got my book today and must say.......wow....... even my 25 year old gf is looking through it! I am currently walking a retro speccy road and have mister rollings to thank for it!
Andrew Rollings you are a god among men! Well done, now get cracking on volume 2!
Reallllllly looking forward to my copy arriving too. If at all possible can I have my copy signed as well....thats if its not on its way already which I hope it is....but just in case it isn't ;)
P.S. Do hope maybe you'll consider doing a C=64 version sometime in the future...well heres hoping anyways.

It's in the pile to go out tomorrow... I'll try and sign it for you.
Got mine yesterday. Liked the nice postmark of lots of Speccy characters!
Bit peeved I'm not mentioned Mr Rollings, especially after supplying the Crash Scores ;-) . Nah, not really. Just really glad I've got it finally. I've read it cover to cover and now it's sitting pride of place on my shelf just outside the bathroom as perfect "having a crap reading material". As a mid 30's male, that is so important!
Congrats Andrew, it's even better than I'd hoped it would be, I especially liked the MM review (the one at the end ;-)). Had me going for a few seconds!!

Glad you liked the MM review... You're not the first to 'appreciate' that ;)
It's a compliment, a major one. I read many articles, mainly in the bathroom, that are relegated to the bin after one read. Bob Hoskins calls the best scripts he reads "bottom coolers". He reads his film scripts on the loo and if his bottom is cold when he has finished that means he has spent far too much time reading the script, which means he is very interested. A "having an extended reading crap" is the same for me, "having a crap read" is sitting down with a novel by Dan Brown!

It was very well done. The screenshots were brilliant, and were the first thing that "got" me for a few seconds.

F***ing f***kers didn't have the "right kind of truck".
New delivery date: 26th.
Bunch of useless tossers. Didn't let me know until the end of the f***ing day either - and I had to call THEM!
Andrew

You are mentioned: "... and anyone else I may have forgotten" - right near the end :)
Hmm... not sure I like that :P

I did see that, I think I'm quite pleased to be one of the forgotten ;-)

(Monday is a holiday here, so the post office will be closed...)
Andrew
I've just paid for a copy of the book.... As with everyone else I guess, any chance you could sign my copy?
Cheers, Steve
