Bonus materials add-ons?

Very first impressions about Andrew's superb book are just started to come in and we are all very happy about it. We all also get a brief note included alongside book with Andrew's appreciation for all of us who waited for it for so long. And in the post scriptum there is also something which caught my eye. Hint about bonus materials to be added to http://www.zxgoldenyears.com/. I wonder what else is in the works?

Wonder if the offer of an electronic PDF document of the book for those who pre-ordered is still on. Not that I'm letting the book out of my sight any time soon!

On a side note, I just noticed I've been quoted in the customer comments section of www.zxgoldenyears.com. Fame at last, huzzah! :D

    It's a surprise...
Actually, depending how my current inquiries go, it may be better than I thought... but that's a different thing entirely... Well, it's related, but it's different, if you get my meaning...
Anyway... I'm about to start some of it... How that develops will depend on the results of my inquiries :o

Good call. When I sell out, I'll probably put the book up for free download... probably. Well, maybe... We'll see... It depends ;-)

Huzzah indeed... I'll be updating it with the next batch of nice comments soon... On a related note, you've no idea what a relief/delight it is to have nothing but positive comments... and they're generally even more positive that I could have hoped for... :-D
(But I guess I'm too close to the thing to see anything but warts right now.)

Well, that's cleared that up nicely then :-D
Oh, no. Every time you turn up something monumental and terrible happens.
I don’t think I have the stomach for it.

    I like surprises! :)

Well, actually, I would love to see second volume. Sometime in the future. With even more games covered and also those which are not in now (Turbo Esprit, Bomb Jack etc.).

God, I haven't heard that in absolute donkeys!

I do actually have a minor thing to say about the book - Chuckie Egg and one of the other pages (round about 100) weren't printed quite right - the white is a bit thinner than on the other pages. Still very readable though (if you're not using a crap bedside lamp ;-) ) and that very minor niggle was well out of your hands.

I'm all the way to Match Day so far. Simply un-put-downable (in both senses of the word)

It would be funnier just to do an image of a cassette stuck on with shit sellotape...

Actually, that's a very good idea - put all of the denied games on there, from Ultimate, Codemasters etc. They'll get the book banned, and you can sell the books for far more than their normal price, as when something's banned, it sells far more and for a far higher price than otherwise.

Hmmm... Was the C64 ever banned, come to think of it? It's the only way to explain anyone ever buying one ;-)

But serious, that would be a true interactive journey through Speccy games history. Without great classics, of course (Ultimate & Codies). And with Spectaculator emulator included (just look at page 244 where are endnotes and you will see why!). ;)

meh... dangerous territory... I can write about games without asking for permission... but to include the actual snapshots on the cd.. I think not...

Still you could view the book as a 'google treasure hunt' and go through it page by page looking for the denienced games.

Yeah, we all know that... black territory... We can only hope that someday also Ultimate and Codies games will be available.
