I could really do with some more of those Napa Valley cassette racks, but so far I've been unable to get them from the UK (apart from one at a car boot sale for 50p!), and US postage is pretty expensive.
I got my first Sinclair Spectrum 48 k when i was 10 years old in 1987 and all i can remember is that it included two games which were Hard cheese and Frenzy.
Maybe this is just something the store included with my computer or were these two games included in one of those 3 software packs ?
There are the 3 software packs given away with spectrums in the UK that i know of there are pics of them in the link
Napa Valley - just because they are very nice wooden racks that can be wall mounted, allow the tapes to be easily (re)moved, and I've not found anything else similar available in the UK, other than basic shelving, which I don't think shows the tapes off so well.
Congratulations guys, your collections are really impressive!
Beautiful!
Vincent,
I noticed your NES (best console ever IMO).
It is in really beautiful conditions. ue to the age my NES was becoming more and more yellow. Last year I "tunned" it and implemented that "stereo sound simulation" which just splits the sound channels.
Aside there?s a friend?s Dreamcast which was bought via internet.
That was really in poor condition, even have the old owner name written on it.
Tunning ugly consoles, cartriges, etc is one of my passions.
Fortunatelly I don?t need to do it to my TS2068, but will probably do on MSX.

I see, yeah your collection is displayed really well, in the second pic what are the cassettes with handwritten labels ?
Paulo when u say " Tunning " do you mean Tuning, that Dreamcast looks really good.

Thanks! I only got it a year or so ago from a guy in Yorkshire. I think there are a few marks on the top of the console that need lightly scrubbing off, but it is in really good nick. It also needs to get the cart socket fixed - I think the pins are slightly slack.

Not too keen on your NES, but that Dreamcast is gorgeous, excellent work on it.
Oh, no. Every time you turn up something monumental and terrible happens.
I don’t think I have the stomach for it.

Those are Macronics tapes.
The actual inlays are printed, however they didn't print anything on the spine, so people have written on there the names of the games. I'm trying to get copies without any writing on the labels, but they are hard to come by...

This is some of my collection, still need to sort and photo all the boxes in the loft, plus the books, mags, Disc drives, +D, divide ect and the super spectrum archiver pc I'm working on :)
Sadly my boyfriend doesn't share my passion for the speccy.... ho hum.

Here's a photo of my collection. I have only really started to rebuild it recently, although I have had the computers (except the Spectrum+) for some time.
-More than 3000 tapes, some of them were 60 min tapes full of games
-British and spanish magazines
-Books (complete Rom disassembly, and many others)
-Sinclair gun
-Interface 1
-3" disks
And there was more, but I can't remember all the details now.
Okay, here we have Spectrum collecting with a womans touch.
Can't be... there's nothing pink or frilly in the photos :-P

Bollocks, shizznit and fraggles... I forgot about the magazines. Only got about 50 YS and 30 SU though. And they're very tatty now.

My other half loves the speccy. In fact she's got Spin, Booty and Ant Attack on her laptop. I'm surprised she gets any uni work done
And she owns more than half of the Resident Evil collection aswell as about a quarter of everthing else.

I would like to know if those of you who have posted more than 3 pics could share them with just one link, maybe to a photo sharing site, or maybe a link to a zip file, if it's not too much to ask.
Since the wonderful collections aren't for sale, we contemplate them once in a while. *sniff* At least that's what I'm doing.

A while a go we cut our huge bedroom in half and turned it into two rooms, the smaller part being a mini home cinema... this however never really was satisfactory ( we were using an OHP with tft flat pannel. Great picture, just too small. SO - I've been given the go ahead to gut it and turn it into my own little computer den, so over the next few months I will be shelving it out and displaying all my collection in there... also planning on having a 360' webcam set up to go on my homepage :)

I'm an Atari 800XL owner and the main media that games were on for that were tape. Trouble is I've seen loads of pics on the net of peoples collections for all sorts of game systems, but I've never really seen any big collections where the games were on cassettes, and I guess it'd be interesting to see this instead of always seeing stacks of carts or CD/DVD cases all the time.
I know this isn't the right way to do this but never mind...
Yumm. Nice collection. Oh, I fancy a game of Nowotnik Puzzle. Be a pal and pop up in the loft will ya, 146th crate on the left, past the 3DOs and the airfix lancasters. You'll find it in a box labled ' 32,000 unmarked Speccygames.'

Nowotnik puzzle is in crate 41, right hand side middle row.
Worryingly there are about 2000 unsorted speccy games in crates on the left just behind the shop stock.
We tried with my lot, and were told that if any one item is valued under ?1000,00 then it is automatically covered by contents insurance. Not sure I'd get it's full value back if the whole lot went up in smoke!

All the 8bits works and are unmodified, except the Spectrum+ where I have bypassed the modulator.
The rubber key spectrum is not currently in use, the other 3 are all hooked up to my iMac which acts as a virtual tape/floppy drive.
I envy you. When I came to the U.S. I left my spectrum stuff in portugal, and my family sold it!
I have no pics to show. All I have now is a memory of:
-2 Neptun 156 monitors
-1 Cobra Joystick
-1 Sinclair Joystick
-1 Zx Printer
-2 Spectrum 48k
-1 Spectrum 128k
-2 Spectrum +2
-2 Spectrum +2a
-1 Spectrum +3
