Spy vs. Spy

Great game. Really enjoyed planting bombs and setting traps. This was one of the few games that I was good at. I used to be able to beat the computer quite a bit. Not as colourful as the 'shitsty 4' version, but just as good.

I thought it was an excellent game, especially with two players; Chaos was about the only thing that topped it in the evil-backstabbing stakes. Taking out the computer just doesn't give the quite the same level of satisfaction but it still provided a decent challenge.

Also, stuff the colour; it's based on a black and white comic after all. :-D

This one one of a series of games that my brother bought after having played them first on his mates C64.
The others were: Spy Hunter, Gunship, Hardball. there may have been more but these are the ones I remember

Great game. Beating the computer was very easy; you just had to wait until the computer collected all the necessary parts and boobytrap the final room.

Have to admit that the graphics suffered from being a straight C64 conversion though, they were *very* blocky. :(

I loved this game, but the computer was such a cheating bugger, it knew exacly where to go for the items, and knew exacly where booby traps were.

    Still kicked its ass though

It was quite original, and good fun two player.

The comic strip Spy vs Spy, had a limited edition run of Spy vs Spy vs Spy, where the Black and White spies, both always lost to a lady Spy. Been interesting to have included that in the game somehow, unless they did already in a sequel that I am unaware of.

Excellent game. Good graphics, great gameplay and it wasn't impossible to beat the computer.
    Loved playing this.

Have to say that I was very disappointed by the two sequels. Could never get into them, the graphics were a big step backwards, and the gameplay had been completely removed.

I enjoyed all three of the games really, but I think the first one was the best. I could beat the computer almost every time, but still kept going back for more! The XBOX game though deserves to be burned alive. It was awful!

i loved it... i loved the evil laugh you gave off when you caused the other spy to become a cropper...

Yes. You can get the lot here:

Mind you, they were both regarded as generally inferior to the first game and the Spectrum conversions were poor.

Ok! I'd never seen or heard of Spy vs. Spy III: Arctic Antics. It does look a bit crap. The Island Caper wasn't too bad.
