Screenshot grabs

edited March 2007 in Chit chat
I want to take some screenshots from an emulator (probably MAME) and save them as jpegs. What's the best way to do this? I haven't got a clue.

    Under Windows:

Activate your emulator, start your program
    press ALT+PRINTSCREEN

    Copy and save as .JPG

(you will get the border of the application as well do)

the only way i know how, is to ctrl-print scrn and paste into 'paint'.

In Mame32 I can press F12, and a .png file goes into the "snap" folder in the Mame folder. You can then load this into your fave paint program like Paint, and re-save it out as a .jpg file, althought the .png files are small and work a treat by them selves!

Press "Print Screen", and save it into Paint. Then use an imaging prog to crop it to get rid of what you don't want. ACDSee can do this. You don't need an overkill like Photoshop.

Agreed -- JPEGs are better for fancy graphics or photos but PNGs are better for game graphics etc. as they're lossless so no nasty fuzzy compression artefacts for a start!
