Dreamweaver re-issued!

edited March 2007 in Chit chat
No, not the software thingy, the fabulous album from 1989 by the simply awesome UK band thrash metal band SABBAT that has been deleted for ages. Copies on CD used to shift for about ?40 on eBay, but now it's reissued and has 3 bonus live tracks too. Same for "History of a Time to Come" albeit with less bonus tracks.

Is anyone else jumping up and down in excitement about this :-D ......or is it just lil' ol' me?

awesome band, awesome albums, the best british thrash band by far... i'm pretty sure the metalheads on here will have these but if you don't, get them, today, seriously! :D

edit: yep, they supported CoF a couple of months back, but I missed them :( i did see them support Candlemass a few years back tho, one of the best gigs I've ever seen.

Yep, excellent band. I first saw them in '89 at the Marquee club with Toranaga (anyone remember them?) in support.

I guess Mourning Has Broken will remain incredibly rare and collectable for the time being, although it's not a patch on the first two albums.

'Mourning Has Broken' should remain incredibly rare - preferably encased in concrete and thrown into the sea for all time. Whilst I have utmost respect for Andy Sneap, to try to claim the band was still SABBAT after Martin Walkyier had left was a total mistake!

Did anyone check out Martin's last venture, THE CLAN DESTINED, formed after SKYCLAD went pear-shaped? Thier demo was kick-ass! :)

Weren't Toranaga the lot who had the album "Bastard Ballads" or something similar? Vaguely recall the name, but never actually heard them

Just completed my Skyclad collection, and am so happy that Sabbat (return to the Sabbat) have re-released these albums. Not got round to buying Clan Destined as it's bloomin expensive. The demo sounds brilliant though.

    Keep it going Mister Walkyier!

That's the one. They also did a second album called God's Gift, although I don't think they lasted long after that. Anyway, to see them and Sabbat on the one night - arguably the two best thrash bands in Britain at the time - was incredible.

I don't think he had much choice in the matter. He was under contract for a third album and would probably have been ruined financially if he didn't deliver one.

For what it's worth, I think it's got its moments: "Without A Trace" has always been a bit of a guilty pleasure and, even if you can't abide Ritchie Desmond's voice, the instrumental "Dumbstruck" is a must-have. Also, like all Sabbat albums, the cover art is fantastic. It's definitely worth having a full set of them on vinyl.

I must say that one of my pride and joys at home is a framed picture of fully signed 'History...' and 'Dreamweaver' album covers - signed by the full original band in both cases - with a contemporary band photo of the line-up in between the covers. Looks absolutely awesome, even if it did cost ?80 to frame :(

Skyclad were an excellent band too - I think in many terms that Martin's lyrics (in all of his bands) are the best in the business, period.

The Clan Destined demo is pricey from their website, but you do get an exclusive t-shirt from the deal which is pretty groovy :D

Any thoughts on the best album recorded by Skyclad, fellow 'Claddies....?
