I think it's the cheat code for the Bug Byte version of Manic Miner. Or did you have something else in mind?

Spot on. I wondered how long that would take. I presume that number is seared into the brain of most 30somethings who had a speccy as a lad, that and the word writetyper.

Wasn't that number rumoured to be Matthew Smiths phone number?

Dunno about that, but it was my mates phone number!

Wasn't it also used as a cheat for Grand Theft Auto : Vice City (or one of the others in the series)?

Well I missed this one altogether, I thought to myself ha I'll answer that. Not only do I find it already answered but all the good trivia, is exposed too.

That's what I get for amusing myself with the woohoo translator.

    6031769 is instantly recognisable.
I heard that it was his driving licence (or corruption of) and NOT his phone number (as I believed for many years).
The answer is found in a MS interview somewhere.

It can't be the exact number because that would be a six figure number. But could quite easily be The Middle Six + the next one.

His Driving Licence Number would therefore be SMITH 603176 M9xxxx Where xxxx are random.

This would make His Birth Date :- 17th March 1966. As the 603176 would equal YMMDDY.

The first Digit in the third batch is a 9 if the person only has one initial.
