just not had the inspiration to post stuff.
plus i had to reinstall windaz twice in the past week :(
yeah the missus went bananas but well, fuck her :P
thats a once in a lifetime to find all those boxed for so cheap
the tv tuner? ?4?
it goes for at least ?50 these days :D
Cool find Mel.
Necros.
tbh thats the best find in whitbys charity shops ever
found a megadrive in one in middlesbrough once, and a couple of original playstations in another in a small village, that i didnt buy.
game wise megadrive and playstation games are on the up mostly
i NEVER find speccy games these days, not 1, found about 4 in a jumble sale outside a church in middlesbrough a while back, but not charity shops.
apart from megadrive and ps games ive found a bunch of boxed msx carts
Write games in C using Z88DK and SP1
Now I know why. Mel yer a fekker and I hate's you I do.
Nope never see Spectrum tapes now adays.
Megadrive carts seem to be disappearing as well.
PS1 disks a fair bit at the moment in charity shops.
SNES Mega and PS1 regularly in those pawn shops, forget what they are called - they also get a fair number of second hand consoles - PS2's in various flavours for about ?50
The Game shops and the like only seem to carry the PS1 disks preowned think they've dropped the rest.
Preowned - I love that term.
I'd like a mega drive to play 3D blockout again.
I'd like a SNES for Mario Kart
But both in 2 player mode. because the head to head games were great but against the computer not so god.
Just got a chunky Playstation and a few games for ?20 including Wipeout 2097 - I actually want the original WipeOut. Only game I liked playing on the platform - the soundtrack has a lot to do with that.
snes....ive found about 3...ever, and always boxless, bar one...a bloody american footy game (prolly unplayed lol)
megadrive - a few months ago everytime i went out i found some in charity shops
speccy games.......................havent seen any in charity shops for like over 5 years at least
mariokart..........i have a spare i can sell you :P
Suddenly Master System, and NES games went up from 1-3 quid to 12. The game station in Newcastle city centre had a boxed copy of Chronotrigger, which I would've jumped on had it not have been 54.99. That's the same price if not more than it was when it came out.
Anyway Mel lucky find, but then again it is st Patricks day, maybe you got the luck of the Irish or something.
We used to have one of them near here. Got a couple of PS1/MD games outta there years ago, but there was sod all the last time we were in there about 2 years ago, then last year we discover it shut down not long ago.
Not surprised, the place was kinda crap with less help than PC World.
At least yours sells PS1 games - ours only does X-Box, XB360, PS2, Wii, PSP and NDS. No GBA or GBC now. Unless they're preowned, but that's rare.
Mind you, nip directly across the street and you'll find MS, MD, NES, SNES, PS1, PS2, GC, Wii, XB, XB360, GB, GBA, NDS, DC, PSP and even some N-Gage games in Gamestation. Which is actually a helpfull shop :-o :-o
I don’t think I have the stomach for it.

Cash converters is a scummy fuckhole full of gyro wallers selling radios and hi-fi they've stolen from their so called friends houses. They'd sell their grandmothers dentures if they could, and I wouldn't be surprised if they'd tried.
yeah bu
t they do have some wikkid bargins for retro games, cds and dvds :)
like dreamcast games for like ?2/?4 here in middlesbrough
Yup Dreamcast games too. Just shows, someone must have bought them - or stole them.
The one in Dartford used to sell obsolete PCs for £300-£400 quid. I believe it's gone too.
There is one still, or something similar, on Shields Road (think - every Caff has plastic tables and allows smoking (cos if they didn't there'd be no customers). It had about 30 PS1 games on the shelf - mostly football games - but I was tempted by Madden 2002 and EA ice hockey.
In Whitley Bay the Game shop has a load of PS1 games from £3 to £6 quid
In North Shields there is a shop (not sure if it is a Game franchise - or Grainger Game or Inde) It has 2 big displays of PS1 games in the back room.
Neither had NES/Master/SNES/Megadrive
There is another shop just opened in North Shields it had a fair few PS2/Xbox preowned and some Megadrive Carts.
And another Independent on Chillingham Road in Heaton which had a load of Megadrive carts.
A fair choice within a few miles of each other.
No idea what is in the center of Newcastle, South Tyneside, the West End or Sunderland.
The platform that seems to be holding value looks like it is the humble GameBoy - the carts for it seem to be more expensive than for any other system. Mind you GB and GB colour systems themselves are regularly £3-£5
Think I would want a Gameboy only for Tetris.
YAY the game gear works, the tv tuner works (better picture than normal portable tvs tbh, still snowy but thats cos of where we live)
tried sonic that came with it, tried shinobi and wonderboy that i already had, they work.
tried a couple of master system games with the master gear addon they work, although flickery.........desert strike and xenon (zennon got so far and stopped...game too technical maybe)
only probs i see then are thus
1: one of the battery compartment lids has the clip broke off so wont fasten, other one fine. (was gonna use one off an old knackered gg i was given ages ago, but it doesnt have battery compartment lids, tch)
2: columns missing from box, but its not that hard to find as it was one of the first games and popular.....also normally appears without box, cool, i shall gets :P
3: my master gear i believe is missing someat? someat should screw through it into the hole in the back of the game gear???
I don't remember ever having to add something to the mastergear. It's maybe just a screw hole to keep it in place.
Did you get a charger with it? If not you could use a MS/MD or ZX81 psu instead :-D
I don’t think I have the stomach for it.

witht he game gear itself?
it seems to be a game gear + pack???
WITH a power supply :)
damn better sell it for tons of money quick then :)
Erm... oops :-P
Okay, if there's summat wrong with that one you can use a MS/MD/ZX81 psu with it no probs at all :-D
I don’t think I have the stomach for it.

That's the one that got robbed not long before Christmas, the rats who turned it over broke into the flat upstairs and kicked a hole through the floor. They then dropped into the shop through the ceiling and took everything.
I think he folded after that, but maybe he didn't my ma said he'd been open a few times since. But not on a regular basis.
EDIT: Or do you mean the newish one that opened just along from King Rooster, I think it's owned by a Sikh fella. It opened the day I left the country (bad timing or what), I saw a guy with a turban going in and out of there a few days before it opened. He'd put a load of XBOX360 posters in his window.
The was a boxed superb condition Amiga CD-32 with loads of games, and a boxed C64 with loads of games too.
I gave him ?50 for the lot. Maybe I paid a bit too much....
I've seen CD-32s unboxed in crap condition going for ?30 so ?0 wasn't too much of a rip off. But then again, it's how much you think it's worth, you're the one that's buying it and using it.
I don’t think I have the stomach for it.

cheers dude, pm coming your way :)
Couldn't tell you, it is at the top of Simonside/Addycomb. I've asked him to keep an eye out for Wipeout on the Playstation.
Yup that's the one, never got a chance to look in there. Shame too I could've tried to offload all the crap under my bed, I've got a ton of sports games for the Megadrive that I've never played (and probably never will), and a few turkeys for the DC and PSX. UK PSX games don't work in the states cos' of the TV signal (something that I never even thought about when I was trying to stuff my best games in a suitcase), but I understand DC games will work here because of the option between 50 or 60 hertz. I have to buy a US DC first though then I suppose I can get my ma to post me a DC game to test the theory.
There's still a region lockout with DC games, regardless of the 50/60Hz thing.
However, using a boot disc will solve that problem.
I've had a Utopia since 98', naughty naughty eh?
