RDS Software

edited April 2007 in MIA/STP/SDP
This is a short version of an Email sent to Andy Barker, over a week ago. Since it's not been answered I'll post it here in the hope somebody tells me what to do.

Have you ever heard of a programming house "RDS Software", who in 1993 released a Disassembler and Workbase program for the 48/128K?

I have in my collection a review copy of said program. I was supposed to review it for AlchNews. but never did due to the programmer messing up. First he sent me a tape that wouldn't load because the quality was too low, then after I mentioned it wouldn't load because of tape quality, he sent the next version on a Chrome tape - which wouldn't load simply bevcause it was on chrome tape. NExt, he sends an Ablex Master Tape, which DID load, but I couldn't make work. Later informed that I should have been sent an instruction leaflet that explained the need to define a few "environmental variables". I never receievd the instructions, but I did get a new tape - this time, one of the finished Ablex tapes. By this time, I was bored of the whole thing and so threw the tape in a box and forgot about it. Until yesterday!

Sorry about that Lloyd, was my son's birthday last week and I got caught up in things. I even missed two SDP disks on ebay :-o.

Indeed it is of interest, perhaps myself or one of the preservation team could try and TZX it for you ?

    Best wishes

Ok mate, will try to do it here - it's no problem, I just wondered if it was worth while. I thought you'd like it since it's an unlisted MIA title.

Congrats on your son's birthday, I hope all went well and the lad had a great time :)

It'll be my daughter's soon, that WILL be fun...... I hope :)

    Laters mate :)
