Sinclair ZX ARABIC Spectrum +2 -- How rare is this?? Or is it a wind up.

How many of these existed and are there any others in non standard character sets? Other than russian and polish, and european language variants.

    There were genuine Arabic speccies - I remember seeing one at a ZX Microfair back in '83/'84. I don't think they were being shown by Sinclair, so I don't know how they were licensed. The one I saw was a 48K tho', not sure how this +2 fits in with that!

    the blurb mentions a switch on the front. if it is genuine, I assume it is a custom mod, to switch to an alternate rom. The keyboard has standard qwerty keycaps

    Yes but if you look closely you will see there is also aribic on those keys.

    I remember a magazine advert from the early 80's for an Arabic ZX-81 kit. It was in Your Computer.

    I have brought an Arabic Enterprise 64 from this guy.
    He is ok, and the computer was is good condition.
    The computer had an Arabic keyboard but a standard English ROM if I recall.
    (I don't actively use it)
    I see him sell other Arabic computers quite often on eBay.
