YS3 - Issue 15

edited April 2007 in Announcements
Hello everybody!

I'm Nat Cross, editor of YS3, the unofficial second sequel to Your Sinclair and finest webzine to ever have a Buck Rogers spoof for an issue trailer. Although there hasn't been an issue in some years now, YS3 is definitely not dead. In fact it's back, right now and in bite-size blog form.

http://www.ys3.org/ is the place to go for some occasional (perhaps even frequent!) old skool wibble.

Cheers,
Nathan

    Mousey/RND:

I take it you don't hang around Comp.sys.Sinclair very much then - YS3 has a long, quality heritage, and has been the birthplace of many CSS legends: Bob the Penguin, Scantily-clad Girlie etc.

That it's back is nothing short of astonishing especially after all this time. In fact, if you look closely, you can see a MAME cab being carried through a gate in a field full of cows - but who the hell is taking it?

I admire the idea, but I suspect you may have just over-reached yourself a tiny bit!

I've screenshotted your post, and I'll be dragging it out when the series is complete, some time in 2012.

In any case, give it a couple more weeks worth of reviews and nobody'll be able to claim there aren't enough Speccy graphics! :p

I believe this deserves a "yay"!

I also believe it to be a well-chosen format (as opposed to a "proper" 'zine).

Will plug on the YSRnRY once I'm all caught up with correspondance, etc, as I've just got back from a week away.

Reviewing every game in the WoS archive in alphabetical order is a substantial undertaking, although I note you've made good progress up to Ace of Aces so far. The big question is, what if somebody were to release a game tomorrow called "Aardvark Custard"? Will you go back to review it, or hope to catch it on the next pass when you've done Zynaps and all the games which start with numbers?

It's not that bad, really. In fact, I quite liked it! RSSed! Hope to see some unknown gems being uncovered during your labour of love to review all speccy games! :)

Somehow there's only one person in the world who I can picture writing a complete Speccy game called "Aardvark Custard" within the next 24 hours. And since he's the one raising the question in the first place, that can only mean one thing.

The games starting with numbers... :-o Oh bugger. I knew I'd forgotten something.

New releases would get a proper review all to themselves. I've been giving these bite-size reviews about ten minutes each, tops. (And half of those are spent getting screenshots.)
