Monday

Folks,

I suspect there may be some sort of media coverage on Monday about the 25th aniversary (most likely on-line coverage).

So, just in case we get any visitors to WoS, I would like to ask that we are all smartly dressed, showered and on our best behaviour.

We should also lock MTB in a cupboard with Mile.

They'll enjoy that. Maybe we should lock them in separate cupboards?

    Good forethought Lee.

Do you think we will get a current of fair-weather visitors so to speak.

Do you think we may get a visit from Sir C (and I dont mean Cliff Richards).

i would expect there to be something in some of the newspapers, it's st georges day, and the red tops usually get all patriotic so it may get a column or two. even a piccy of clive wouldn't be amiss.

I thaught that was the job of FACT these days. I've got a mate who just got his masters in Computer Forrensics and got a job with FACT. They are paying him very well.

On the subject of FACT/FAST, do you remember those warnings on Durrell software games ? Something about a ?100 reward for grassing up a pirate ?

I was gonna ring them and tell them my brother copied Saboteur, but my mother wouldn't let me use the phone.

?100 in those days could have bought me a new BMX...

i always remember the adverts in the mags, and im sure in those days it was FACT rather than FAST, that did the advertising.

I think that reward was just for counterfeit tapes, not copied tapes..they after the big boys not the little ones.

FAST had an 0800 telephone number you could ring to receive a free information pack. This consisted of a large black poster, some anti-piracy stickers and a software audit program for the PC on 3.5" disc.

My friends had formed an Atari ST cracking group at the time, so they all ordered the pack just to get hold of the free disc. They then copied over the free disc with pirated games.

The FAST poster, I'd have cut the FAST of and just kept the Skull and crossbones pic.

Also one thing that used to make me wonder about those adverts?

Was there ever really a game called "See it, Shoot it"?

Wasn't there also an FAST ad with some seedy guy behind a seedy looking home-made booth selling (il)legal (seedy looking) tapes?
