There was a record fair in Kilkenny today. I went along and ended up spending close to ?100.

Here's what I got (not that this will be of any interest to anyone) :-

Cocteau Twins - Blue Bell Knoll LP
David Gilmour - About Face LP
Iron Maiden - Run To The Hills (Live) 12"
Iron Maiden - 2 Minutes To Midnight 12"
Marillion - Clutching At Straws LP
Rush - Archives 3LP (1st three albums in a boxset)
Emerson Lake And Palmer (first album)
Jean Michel Jarre - Rarities CD (includes two early pre-Oxygene albums - Deserted Palace and Les Granges Brul?es and several early singles).

An impressive haul. :)

You got some good stuff there. The Rush box set is particularly good. Are the Maiden 12"s the originals or the 10 year reissues?

Thanks. They're the originals I think.

You'd know if they were the 10 years reissues. They were double vinyl with '10 years' splashed all over the covers.

Nope. They definitely don't have that. In fact '2 Minutes To Midnight' lists the 1984 tour dates on the back of the sleeve.

I'm just referbishing my turntable, it's been out of action for a while.

I have a Systemdek IIX with Rega RB250 Tonearm with Audio Techinca AT110E cart.

Hopefully once I have set it up properly my vinyl will sound real sweet. I'm surviving off of one of those horrible, cheapo DJ decks you but for teenage kids untill I get it fixed. I can't wait.

There was another record fair held today. I picked up two nice and rare records by The Cure - Disintegration (Picture Disc) and Hot Hot Hot (Remix) 12" which was the US release. Nice. 8)

The picture disc cost €30 though.

Cool my TT is now refurbished and up and running.

I must say it's sounding great. Time for me to start buying vinyl again.

I bought some Technic 1210s in around 1992 and they are still pumping - even though I've modified them to increase the pitch controls. Also I have a vast amount of 12"s (about 4000+ - even after dumping loads for space reasons).

Wouldn't mind hearing the David Gilmour album. Is it any good? I haven't heard that of that one.

I haven't actually played it since I got it  but it's typically Gilmour in sound with some 80s sounding keyboards (it was released in 1984) in the mix too. At least that's how I remember it. Might give it a spin now. :)
