He he. Do they even have keys ? I don't think they do...

no, they have a special machine to start the engines. a driver can't cold start the engine.

they could do it with the steering wheels, as they carry that around with them. not in a Mr Bean way.

    I'd definately watch it then.

Well, maybe just the bit while they fight for their carkeys...

I think also they should make the tracks a bit more interesting, like choice of routes etc... Bit like Mariokart, without the mushrooms...

Hmmm ... make them eat "mushrooms" first, then the race gets interesting ... if they ever find their vehicles.

Yes, no-one (let alone just the yankee doodles) give a toss about iForward, Russia!, Syd Barrett or Ultravox...

I was gonna mention the Horrors instead of FR, but the Horrors are getting even more buzz over there than even the Arctic Monkeys (the last Brit band THIS over hyped was the Kaiser Chiefs, and they certainly lived up to that)

Syd Barrett is a cult figure in the UK, but something that only people who live and breathe music, work in a record store or are fans of www.pitchforkmedia.com know who he is (that and two of his songs were featured in an episode of the X-Files)

Ultravox made "Vienna". That's good enough for me. They never meant squat in the US.

I really REALLY couldn't give a monkeys for Syd Barratt. Or Douglas Adams.

And, the only person that regularly talks about them on this forum is American.

So, my research leads me to believe that the Americans care more for these people than we do.

    I think thats scientific enough.

Syd Barrett is vastly overated. Why dont people bang on about Gilmour as much - hes far more talented. People love to make cult figures from tragic people - regardless of their talent.

Douglas Adams didnt do enough if you ask me. Then again, I dont know his work that well.

looked him up, some geezer from pink floyd who were before my time. so maybe old people will like him but people my age wont have heard of him.
apparently (i think it's a fact -ed) he died last year. at the age of 80, i'm not interested in 80 year old musicians. just 18 year old ones :)

His music wasn't very good. It's cos he was juggling his house building business at the same time. Bit of a jack of all trades really. He should have stuck with the building. The houses were alright.

That's why. I am the only american Syd Barrett fan (some one who owns all TWO of the solo albums he's made is considered a die hard fan. Even I only own "The Madcap Laughs")

    That would be more accurate.

I am the bestest American fan of his work because I even have his LP from the late 70s when he dabbled in Disco ... it's called "I got the shingles tonight!" feat. such lesser known hits as "Shingle Fever!" ... "The Barnbats are jiving" ... "Plank me up some disco" ... "House full of dance steps, a little bit of coke" and some other ones which I'm not letting you in on, cuz I wants its eBby value to truly go above and beyond LOOK R@RE.

I love Syd Barrett and have all 3 of his albums and loads of bootlegs and out-takes and radio sessions. I can see why he is not everyones cup of tea because his songs are a bit rough around the edges and sound like they were demos quickly recorded before they were forgotten (which is not far from the truth). It's that shambling quality that I like about it.

I have never cared much for Pink Floyd though, and only like maybe 3 or 4 of the ones Syd wrote and played on (and 2 of those are unreleased as Pink Floyd thought they weren't fit to commit to vinyl).
