Some very sad news

edited July 2009 in Sinclair Miscellaneous
I'm sorry to report the sad news that Jim Langmead, webmaster of Speccy Spoilers and popular contributor to this forum and the speccy scene in general, passed away on April 11th.

He had been ill for some time with Crohn's disease, amongst other problems.

Rest in peace, Jim, you're in a better place.

He did love a good rant did Jim, whether it be on WoS, CSS or IRC.

And who will ever forget his alter ego: "I am not Gamestage"?

Thats awful news but to be honest I guess we've been waiting for it.

My condolences go out to Jim's family.

We certainly had some fun with Gamestage.

Let's not mourn the friend that we've lost but lets celebrate the laughs we had.

    RIP Jim.
I wanna tell you a story 'bout a woman I know...

That is really sad news. RIP Jim. :(

I think he should be added to the tributes page. He certainly deserves it after everything he's done here over the years.

    Very, very sad :*(

Best poster imo and best irc'er as well. Always up for a chat and if you weren't then you could just listen to Jim talking to himself!

He was hoping to get stuck into Sweevo's Whirled again at some point after he'd gotten out of hospital as I don't think he was too happy with the repairs, think there was a veiled telling off! So, if anybody wants to finish what he was hoping to, you can >
compare rooms in sweevo's world and whirled - might indicate what the author's "true" fix should've been? (rather than hole instead of vent etc)

From him we do come and to him we do return. Tara Jim.

The speccy community is much diminished by his passing.

    Condolences to his family.

    Rest In Peace Jim.

Just had a thought, and I know it's quite quick (I've never been one to mourn for too long over the death of anyone), but shouldn't someone download everything from Speccy Spoilers before it dissapears? Would be good to keep it running in his honour.
