Wanted Cheetah Specdrum

edited July 2007 in Wanted
Still looking for one of these if anyone has a decent shape one (ideally with tape/s)

I can have shipped to my parents in Manchester if the US shipping is a problem.

I'm happy for you beanz. Have you found the software for the interface?
I plan to get one of those interfaces for me one day. The idea of using drums, digitized speech, midi, etc. has always fascinated me.

You can get the software off this very website! I got the extra kits from here, slapped them on a cassete and bingo, have the full package with the Specdrum now, is a great peice of kit, sounds great to! especially the electronic kit. Will be using it in a production soon...
    Glad you got one beanz...
    Nice one.

Yeah I have the TZX images, would have been nice to have the actual tapes but no big deal. I've been trying to pick up a specdrum for..umm must be over a year so was very surprised I was the only bidder on this one!

Had one back in the 80s and played around with it alot back then.....as max says very nice piece of kit.

Edit: Post a link when you do max!

Hey - did you get your Specdrum?

I reckon the Specdrum was my favourite app for the Speccy. Had one donkeys ago back in the day, it was so versatile. i also had Yamaha keyboard and MSX computer/keyboard and their drum kits were pants compared to what little Speccy could do with that grey box slapped in!

I managed to find one again a few years ago and it got nicked when I got burgled! I mean c'mon! What type of burglar nicks a frelling Specdrum in a rush?!?!

Yeah I got one but its not arrived yet. Sounds like your burglar wasn't all bad if he likes the spectrum!

Beanz, in your opinion, do you find the Specdrum software easy to use? I was trying to play with it yesterday and couldn't figure out a thing!

Well I'm still waiting on delivery of my Specdrum but when I used it in the 80s I had no problems....in fact I would say it was easy to use. I mainly used it in real time mode rather than 'authoring' mode (or whatever its called).

Of course that was a long time ago...a time when I used to be able to program the family VCR...these days I can't program the microwave without nuking my burrito.

Hi there, the software is blindly easy to use when u get into it, is a bit quirky and makes you think its not working if you dont follow the right procedure! But when u get it going its really easy and addictive to keep slapping beats together. Think there is a manual on this very website..

Would have to agree; once you've got into it the software is easy and smooth to use!
