Cartoonist / Illustrator

edited July 2007 in Chit chat
Is there anyone out there who is half decent at illustrating or creating cartoons ?

My wife wants to try writing a childrens book about a dog, she'll get it published at Lulu and sell some copies in the local dog sanctuary where i'm a volunteer (and where the dog is from).

Its not going to sell tons of copies or that but shes looking forward to doing it as it should sell a fair few in the shop she hopes. Need someone to draw an illustration/cartoon on each page and obviously the front cover.

Obviously i will pay, not tons (hey its all for chari-tee mate) i must admit but had a quick look onilne and everyone seems super professional and costs a ton. Would rather give the work to an amateur or up and coming person etc.

If anyone can do this type of thing then please PM/email me

yeah look at my avatar, drew that myself. :)

if you don't get any luck, why not go to the local college/ uni, i bet the teachers would only be too happy to pass your details on to the students, or maybe let you put up a poster to advertise. or maybe if it is for charity you can get a school involved.

of course you'll have to wait for schools to start again. (idiot - ed)

    Yeah good point actually.

I've contacted two people from WOS who seem to be decent artists, its not going to be a huge money spinner or that but should be good.

But yeah if i dont hear anything i'll be very tempted to contact a school via post (have to keep 10 miles away from each school due to my court injunction)

    JOKE !

Why not ask ZX Beccy? If she has time, I'm sure she'll help.

I know what you mean !

Trying to explain to her that i talk about 25 year old computer games with people i've never met on the internet is difficult !

Then again the amount of times shes said 'how did you know that' or 'how did you get hold of that' etc and i say 'because of someone i know on that Speccy forum' shes impressed !

Theres definately something wrong with her, she had a BBC in the 80's so its no surprise she was never a huge fan of 80's gaming !

My wife is an artist and has illistrated books for her mother in the past and a few other people in the past.

Although she is not a cartoonist?

Would you like me to have a chat with her?

    Andrew.
