A serious answer for Mile. (Includes Goats milk)
I was going to post a reply in one of the threads that Mile innocently started, but Toxitalk got there and 'AY Chipped it!'
If I may just say, before he goes and puts the keibosh on this one, that I thought lots of ingredients could be stewed, ie: Fruit, and therefore be in a stew, but the same could not be said for casseroles.
I know, my answer isn't really worthy of its own thread, especially a closed one, but I got a bit miffed when I was denienced a quick reply.
So, I'd better think of something else to put in this thread as well. Erm, okay...
Goats milk. Yes, or No.

I'd think goat's milk as an ingredient would be ok in a stew, as long as the ingredients are as equally foreign and they'd be able to overpower the horrid taste. Turnip- and meatpieces, along with some other (steamable) vegetables come to mind.
I love a good thick stew, especially during middle of winter. Good childhood memories.

In our local market you have to be a goat's cheese expert to get the right kind. The stallholders grade it from left to right acording to strength - 'frais frais' being the mildest. I forget what the top grade is - 'fort fort' probably - but you have to know the left-right system because it mostly looks white and slightly crumbly and there are no labels.
I also dislike goat's milk. I used to be sent out to milk them as a child and there is quite a bit of unpleasantness involved (I can provide detail if interested). My Mum used to pour the stuff on our cereals saying 'don't worry it's cow's' but it was always thin and stinky. The only worse concoction is salted and soured mare's milk which is popular with Central Asian nomads. I found it hard not to grimace/gag when drinking it but have had a fair bit of it out of politeness. Maybe they just knew I didn't like it becuase it was always offered!
i knew the stew thread was a bad thread to start, it was only a matter of time before it got closed. ;)
if you put goats milk in a stew it is quite possible that the devil will appear out of the broth and gobble your face. so be warned.
i once made leek and potato soup, it required some milk. so i added it, cooked it up, had a lovely bowl of it, put the rest in the fridge, went on holiday, and came back to a fringe that stunk of death.
so be warned about storing it :)
