This seems to be the general consensus on who and what CD is, so why expect him to contribute to the WoS preservation effort? I say leave him then be.

I have to agree with Skarpo.
Not to pass any judgement, but of the many WoS visitors, only a truly tiny amount actually contribute to preservation. This is no requirement at all (and we're doing great!), so why single out CD?

if you rearrange the letters in cornish davey, take some away, add some you get the phrase cornish pasty

Well I was always bad at Countdown so the best I can come up with for Cornish Davey is I roc in a shed. But don't know what to do with the V and Y.

I think I will hide em in me shed, next to the burning bush... ;)

if you take all the words from his posts and rearrange them you get
"I am evil, my number is 666, I will kill martijn and eat fogartylee! I will gouge out your eyes and feed them to my dog, George W Bush"

it's a hidden message you just have to look for the clues!
    erm, or something

Because he has come in on many occasions and advertised that he has loads of tapes that are MIA and then said that the preservation team will never get them.

Looking at the credits section on the TZX Vault, a lot of members (far more than a tiny few) have helped out the team, even in small ways like loaning or donating tapes or donating money, me included. So why can't he do the same. It's not like he'll never see his "precious" games again.

because he sells em, and thinks em being in the public domain will devalue em

No. He has also said that he doesn't sell anymore. Basically...
They're my tapes! Mine, Mine, Mine! And you will never get them. By the way, (mindless rubbish about Freemasonry and the American government)...
Even if he was selling them, I doubt the availability of a tzx file on this site would devalue the original tape, especially not to serious collectors.

He said so many things. Why would you believe this?
He also reported MIAs that never actually got published. Except that they were - he just didn't have them.
I don't find him at all trustworthy, so I simply ignore him.

I do subscribe to that sentiment, but they're his tapes and he can do with them whatever he wants, whether we like it or not...

I can't believe I never noticed this thread before. This is one of the funniest things I've ever seen on WoS.

"Legal action" Hee Hee Hee! Has Cornish-idiot ever considered getting involved in stand-up comedy? I have a feeling he'd be a hit. Though I think people will be laughing at him rather than his "jokes". :)

I can imagine if that ever went to court, the judge would laugh him out of the courtroom. :)

Cept they recently found the oldest copy of the book of revelations (1st century) and the number in it is 616 not 666....all these years its been translated wrong.....so I guess that means your off the hook with that 666.

Kinda throws everything else in the bible up in the air doesn't it!

Edit: God I'm starting to sound like Cornishpasty.

Not really. The 'mark' is a symbol of evil. People are also supposedly 'marked' according to their deeds. In effect siding with the devil. Whereas people who are on Gods side are marked by the lamb of God (Mr Jesus m'kay),

Then when the great day of Armageddon comes only those marked with the number will be destroyed. So C64 owners WATCH the sky's!

I will shut up now! Damb God bothers...

I think singling out Cornish because of his tape preservation reservations are a bit unfair. What people do with their collections is up to them. The reasons given sometimes make me laugh but thats people for you!

the thing is, these MIA's that are in other peoples collections will mostly turn up elsewhere and we will get them.

I knew a guy like that, used to sing and talk about the aliens, and the probing. Needless to say about 6 years ago he was stabbed to death 2 streets away from the pub he drank in. I think it made the national papers not just the local.
