Was just about to post this - you pipped me to the post Nick!!

Does this mean we need to get Sky's permission to distribute the Spectrum ROM?

Does this mean that we will have to take BSkyB's permission for the spectrum ROMS? Or does Amstrad's word still count?

EDIT: lol. I see Woodcock has pipped me to the post as well.

    Cliff Lawson's original statement.

Nothing about retaining the right to rescind permission, but I don't know if that's implied or not. IMHO, the genie is out of the bottle.

"I think it's great" probably wouldn't stand up in court :)

Reading betwen the lines, BSB bought Amstrad for the set top boxes. Nothing else Amstrad does is significant to them. We know it's all crap anyway :)

I still think clarification is required - has Amstrad sold the right to grant distribution rights along with everything else?

I hope Sir Alan knows what he's doing.....
    Oh bugger!<br>

::IDEA:: a Spectrum Emulator running on a Sky Digital box. Now there's a project.

Does BSB really care about a computer that was already outdated (excluding us die-hards) about 15 years ago ?

Or does the Speccy range still produce an income that is worth concidering even for such a large company ?

Was I seeing things, or did I spot Rick Dickinson in one of the old Amstrad clips the BBC showed in it's late evening news? The clip seemed to be in an Amstrad factory, with Alan Sugar and some other people looking at the design of a hi-fi unit. Can't imagine Rick had anything to do with Amstrads hi-fi designs, but I'd swear it was his doppleganger.

Just a Spectrum emulator in their set top boxes would be fine.
