    this is an odd topic.

my mates were into games that I didnt like but I couldnt call them rubbish.

Nebulus and Lords Of Midnight stand out as examples. Literally zero fun for me but they liked them.

No, I'm talking about rubbish games, as per bad graphics and no attempt at gameplay, not just a game that wasn't to your taste. Have a go at Rapid fire and see what I mean! You may just like it! :D

I don't know anyone who liked it, but didn't a couple of magazines rave over it? It certainly sounds impressive, and it it looked okay, but I found it so blimmin hard that I gave up after 30 mins.

I noticed on that list (a few posts previous) that there are 2 games that I like.

Alcatraz Harry and Great Space Race (Yes, really, I do!) :D

I don't particularly like Great Space Race, but I'm lead to believe it's crapness stems from it's easiness.

Ergh! I'm going to bed I'm fuckin' mortal!

TGSR is crap because the game practically plays itself. Just leave it running until it finishes and you'll get almost as much NATOF delivered as if you actively play the game. What little gameplay there is, derives from ramping up your score by making the right decisions on the rare occasions that it matters. The random factors in the game arguably count for more though.

Quite right. It just does what it wants to. I find it quite relaxing... In a fish tank kind of way.

This is more suitable for a "Games that you thought were crap but weren't" thread.

I had a mate who actually thought that the C64 version of Target Renegade was much better than the Speccy version...

Strangely enough he also grew up to like Steps and S-Club more than the Stereophonics or Foo Fighters, even though he's married and claims to be in no way gay...

Oh, and I really liked Mutant Fortress, but I knew it was crap. I think I liked the idea behind it more than the actual game.

Ditto for me on that one, great cover, cool title, another Players game for the collection... Yep, I just tried to convince myself it was great! My mates weren't fooled. :)

I'd say it was slightly more Green Beret-esque myself, and I will agree with deadpan it was a nice idea just badly executed. Which is a shame cos' I love stupid B-Movies and horror flicks, this could have been something special.

Unforunately it turned out to be just "Special".

Its just a dull sideways scrolling shooter. Reminded me of Street Gang in a way.
