So many questions...

edited August 2007 in Hardware
I'm a regular reader of this forum and everyday I see so many questions people have. Questions regarding technological decisions made in the past. Questions regarding what prototypes looked like. What people were working for the company? How was the ULA designed? Etc., etc.

This might be a weird question, but did anyone ever try to get in touch with Sir Clive, after all, he's just a human being, and maybe he's even willing to answer some questions or provide historic material? He migt even like the idea that the ZX-community is still very much alive, after all those years...

If you mean Sir Clive I recall reading he disliked discussing his past inventions.

Could be interesting to send Sir Clive an invitation to join this forum. After all, he could just add a "no comment" hotkey for the questions he wouldn't want to reply to. :)

I've often wondered if the original designers, who I imagine would be proud of their work and the community they help create, would be willing to be interviewed by WOS or supply photos etc.

If they made a public appearance on the forum they might be battered for answers!

I'm sure some of you saw the recent videos about the QL on YouTube. Those gentleman who were interviewed, didn't they work for Sinclair? If they did, I'm sure they wouldn't mind giving an interview again, but this time to talk about the Spectrum.

Apparently, when Andrew Rollings got in touch with Sir Clive to do the foreword of the Spectrum book, he took the opportunity to invite him to join us on these forums. Unfortunately it doesn't look like he took up the offer.

...Well, I suppose you never know. Maybe he lurked for a while and then left in disgust when he found that the names sirclive and sirclive1 were already taken. Or maybe he's having a private joke on us and posting under the name CornishDavey.

    Strangely that wouldn't be surprising.
