That article is why I started asking around here on the quality of the DS homebrew scene in general. I have a GP2X, but it's low battery life and dodgy joystick are annoying.
What DS emulators do you think match or exceed the quality of those on the GP2X.
Slot 2 cards typically have 32meg of RAM which the .GBA image is loaded into, and then that memory is set to act like a GBA cart.

Isn't it possible to run .gba files off the SD card on the R4? I've looked around and it seems the only way run gba games from slot 2. True?
Buy an EZ-Flash V 3-in-1 - only about 10 quid, and it is used to run GBA games from your R4. Basically, you store the images on the R4's uSD card and then run a small program which allows you to choose your game and then launch it - by copying to RAM on the 3-in-1, and launching the GBA hardware. When the 3-in-1 is inserted, you don't need to remove it - everything works from the R4 menu transparently.
Used them a few times, with no problems whatsoever. They ship out of London.
For those not bothered about international shipping, i'd recommend http://www.sky2k.com - based in Canada, but shipping direct from Honk Kong.
Wouldn't recomment EZ-Flash myself as the build quality in my opinion is quite shabby. I've been in the GBA/DS/GBC/GB scene for a LONG time and have had pretty much every bit of hardware going. Best bits of kit I've ever had for the DS are undoubtably the Supercard (slot-2) and R4 (slot-1).
I've been using a Supercard Lite for about a year and recently bought an R4. I can have both plugged in to the DS at the same time, but can only run GBA games from the SC. (NDS games for the SC also have to be patched, unlike the R4.)
I did this mainly so that my son could play his games from the SC and I could use the R4, as he kept deleting all my saved games! (Although I obviously need a uSD card for both units.)

Nintendogs has the same effect, "Ahhhhhh" and "cute" like noises are excellent aids to knicker removal.

It's a pretty good incarnation of the board game, and the DS controls are perfectly suited - just drag the tiles on to the board.
