UKnova, is this a bittorrent website? I remember being a member of UKTorrents and The Pleasure Dome (no, it's not what you think!). I was also a mod at Torrentbytes for more than one year (zxspectrum was the nick). But for some reason I lost interest in torrent sites.

Yeah, I was a member of the pleasuredome... My wife was *really* suspicious when she found *that* - "But it's for my arcade cabinet, honest!"
There is a limit of 30,000 users. When the limit is reached we stop accepting new members. Also, the limit is revised from time to time and may go down as well as up. Accounts which are inactive for 42 days are automatically deleted to make way for new users. There can be up to 300 new accounts available per day so if your friend keeps trying at regular intervals they have a good chance of becoming a member!
I recently re-joined UK Nova and it doesnt seem to be as good as before the redesign. Less rare old programmes and more torrents of EastEnders, Corrie etc. Disappointing.
I'll second the recommendation of thebox.bz. It's an excellent site. I let my uknova membership slide a while back beacuse I found it almost impossible to maintain a decent ratio. I don't have that problem on other torrent sites, and it's annoying being punished with late downloads when you can't do anything about it.
