Cheap blank CDs and DVDs

edited October 2007 in Chit chat
Hey guys.

Does anybody know where is the cheapest shop or online shop from which to order blank CDs or DVDs in the UK delivered?

I'm talking about the cheapest price inclusing delivery.

I appreciate any help you guys can give me.

Cheers!

I buy all my blank media from www.ebuyer.com

I dare say there might be cheaper alternatives, but ebuyer has never disappointed me. It's well worth a look to get an idea of prices from.

If you can be bothered to go to one, and come to think of it there are any in the vacinity of your area, just go to a computer fair. You can buy like 1000 CDRs for about a tenner and the DooVDs are just as cheap :)

you could go to the pound shop. doubt they would cost you more than a pound there.

But will they last , or are cheap ones more susceptible to data rot?

You get what you pay for... cheap media is always more prone to problems. Go for a reliable brand like Verbatim or Dysan.

I've been using types of Memorex CDs for the last couple of years, I've had no probs with those (I used to use Memorex tapes for my Speccy er stuff :D).

Avoid Targa or Datawrite like the plague, Datawrites are OK but prone to fading after a year or 2. Targa discs are just ridiculous full stop you get a load for your money but guarenteed the 1st 10 on top of the spindle will be warped and therefore useless, and often the last few on the bottom of the spindle suffer this fate also. So out of say 50 discs you end up throwing away about 15. Then to top it off some of them just won't write and the ones that do fade after about 3 months.

I use Datawrite for my DJ'ing Cds and don't generally have any problems with them. Just need the odd wipe to get rid of fingermarks etc.

I only use Taiyo Yuden, they are universally recognised as the best and most reliable available. As Merman quite rightly says you get what you pay for.

I use PLAY.COM - 100 CDs for around a tenner delivered. Not bought DVDs though. I'm close enough to Scan and Microdirect to buy from their counter.
