No no no, I just ran through all registrations of the last 2 months, checked the "weird names" ones and lo and behold, they belonged to a small set of only 5 IP addresses. The one mentioned in the first message was a clear winner, with no less than 29 registrations since 24th September. He/she/it will probably be disappointed to see them all gone (similar to the accounts from the other 4 IP addresses).
datingadult actually joined days ago (Edit: nope, today); he's the most recent non-deleted account holder, but his claim to fame was just pushed away by the spammers ;-)
I think it's "Joey". Or "Deacon". Or maybe "Joey Deacon".
Hurrah, someone else who remembers the term, Joey. Was just talking about it yesterday, but everyone kept giving me funny looks, as though I was some sort of, erm... Joey.
Yep i 100% remember that. Cruel i know ! Everyone watched Blue Peter back then and for most people it was the first time they had seen, how shall i put this politely, a spastic.
The next day everyone was being called a Joey.
Just like the first time everyone watched John's not mad on QED and the next day everyone knew what Tourettes was and the minute a teacher caught someone swearing we made out its because we had tourettes and couldnt help it.
Cruel i know but you know how kids are. The term 'Joey' has stuck for yearssssss where i live now.
Its very bad though and i'm just as bad. If i had a disabled kid i probably wouldnt like that term just as i wouldnt be too happy with ginger comments if i had a carrottop kid.
True - I had to spend some time on a daily basis to weed out obvious spam accounts.
When I got bored of that earlier this week, I ticked the option to moderate all new sign-ups (so they require manual approval from me before going active). Several further attempts have thus been stopped.
Note, however, that we can still see a trickle of 'backlog', where new sign-ups were made but not yet confirmed by the user. If those were done before I changed the setting, they can still confirm them (as that's later in the process) and I'll have to weed them out again thereafter. But that's a temporary problem.
Put "Country" on the sign up form. If Nigeria is entered you can bet they'll be posting Mobile phone ads.
Interestingly, a user account has Time Zone as one of the fields, which defaults to the time zone of the computer the sign-up was made from.
It's a rather trivial job to match an IP address's country to that bit. In fact, that's one of the steps I take to validate accounts, and it works miracles.
Is -=BestnudeGirl=- an appropiate name for a wosser?
the equals signs are a dead giveaway....you think this could be vBulliten's fault?
What are they doing here of all places? i don't think that there's alot of advert interest on a message board for a website dedicated to a two and a half decade old British gaming computer.

Good old Joey...such a shame when he lost his shoe on that boat trip.
Edit:
http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=joey
didn't they get to number one with Too Shy?
I'll get my coat :p
No, you're thinking of Adolf Hitler's favourite band.....
Pretty sure it was the Number 2 gayest song ever.....Say Hello by Soft Cell being Number 1.

"Qarriddyy"
and even better, just now "casinobonusfrees"...
I mean really, why bother - especially here? No one on WoS is going to bother with their shit!
Andrew
Why is this happening so much lately?
Necros.
Oh jeez i wonder what adverts THAT USER would put up....
this is an invasion! an invasion of commerce!
I suggest we build a large wooden rabbit...

Certainly not. We can't have a nude girl barging in here claiming to be the best one - it's offensive to all the other nude girls who post here.
