Meteor Storm desn't work (chapter 2)

edited October 2007 in Games
This is a continuation of a thread wrote some weeks ago.

Try to load the tzx file:

1.- score is corrupted

2.- after playing, if you get a new score, you wrote your initials and then ...
?Crash! :(

Anyone can find a better tzx?

The TXZ version does indeed crash. The TAP version, on the other hand, doesn't!!

    Anyone know why this is?

Hmm I see what you mean. I'll try and create a fresh TZX and compare it to my original.

Okie, just made a new TZX and compared it in Tapir. Tapir tells me that the data doesn't match which would lead me to believe the current WoS TZX is somehow corrupt :-(.

Anyway, the new one I've made doesn't appear to show corruption on the Hi-Scores table. I was even excited when I heard it say "Meteor Alert, Meteor Alert" ;-). Didn't realise it had sampled speech.

Cheers for flagging this one, although I missed the original thread :-o.

Another one for you Andrew. The new Twister Mother of Charlotte TZX wont load in Spin, and CRASHES Spectaculator 6.3 ! :D

I suspect it could be an iffy one :)

The problem is almost certainly to do with the entirely unnecessary use of the Generalised Bloat Block. Now, who said this would't cause problems?

There's a bug in Spectaculator <= 6.3 which will cause a crash when opening a TZX file containing a block it doesn't recognise (it miscalculates the block length by one byte which is fatal).

There's nothing wrong with the TZX file AFAICT - Works for me, as they say.

    Cheers,

    Jon.
