    I'll be going out in a couple of hours to get it, but this news has really disappointed me. I've read that you can install some parts of the game to the HD and it sorts out some of the slowdown. I bet Sony are pissed at Konami, this game's a system seller and it seems incredible that they let this get past playtesting.

    What's the problem? Does the game suffer slowdown or jerkiness, or something?

    If so, then it's another nail in the PS3's coffin.

    How have Sony managed to mess things up so badly, after the huuuuge success of the PS2?

    just tried it on PS2 and I have mix feelings about it...I scored to many goals from crossings (and I havent done that in a PES since...2000 probably...)

    but the hand held of the players seem smoother than the previous version (that I hated).

    if the game sucks for PS3 then there is no real need to buy one, now is it?

    I've just finished a session on it (PS3) and I've got to say I'm very impressed. The slowdown issues are only in the replays and entrance scenes so far - in the middle of a game it has the least slow down of any version I've played (apart from an earlier version played on a kick-ass PC). In terms of in game slowdown, every version I've played on a console has had it at some point (especially corners when the box is packed) but I've not come across any that has affected the actual gameplay - so far anyway.

    There's loads of bits that they've improved upon which make it IMO a better game than ever to play and I'll explain them later on when I've had some kip.

    I'm chuffed to bits with it, 37 quid well spent (thank you Asda), and I'm glad I got mine early this morning. A mate of mine just texted me saying he's just leaving his fourth Asda, pissed that they've sold out!
