Games were you where a Master!
trough out times, there have been a few games where I was simply beter than any one else...in some of them just in a level...
In Spectrum I think It was Arkanoid and Batty...I was the best around my circle of friends...(although I dont think I ever passed the 8th or 9th level of Arkanoid...)
there have been some other games that I excelled but if there was ever a game that I reached nearly perfection, it had to be the 1st Bouncer Castle level on Super Mario Kart and Super Soccer for SNES, on the first there where times I could nearly give a lap advantage to the 2nd place, and on the Super Soccer, I managed to finish the game with Belgium (it was indeed a long and boring summer I admit it...) unfortunatelly non of those atributes ever had any use in real life...but I did feel acomplished at the time!
so what was the game you where a true master?

I could loop through the levels until I got bored.
Loved that game.
Andrew
Manic Miner (although not so much these days)
Rapscallion (so easy)
Renegade
Target Renegade
Dizzy
Hyperlane
Agent X
Double Dragon (due to it's very easiness, mastered within 1 or 2 goes I think :D)
Those are for definite dunno about any more, there probably were many more
Non-Speccy
Streetfighter II in all forms on the SNES (This is the man who completed it on level 7 with 1 credit using Dhalsim).
Streetfighter Alpha series :Saturn/PS1
Resident evil 1, 2, 3, survivor, and Code Veronika: Saturn/PS1/DC.
Soul Calibur : DC
Double Dragon: Arcade/Megadrive/Master System/NES
Double Dragon Advance: GBA
Double Dragon II: Arcade/Megadrive
Guardian Heroes: Saturn
Silent Hill: PS1
Soul of the Samurai: PS1
Tekken 1, 2, and 3: PS1
Tenchu Stealth Assassins: PS1
Syphon Filter 1, 2, and 3: PS1
Sonic 1, 2, and 3 and with Knuckles: Megadrive
Magical Flying Hat Turbo Adventure: Megadrive
Castle of Illusion :Megadrive/Master System
Pro-Wrestling: Master System
That'll do for now, not blowing my own trumpet but if I sat and thought of all the games I'd mastered I'd be sitting here all night, and maybe for the rest of the week :D
Amiga: Lionheart
PSX: Deathtrap dungeon
Oly cuz they're easy though. :)
Goldeneye N64, I can complete a lot of the levels unarmed.
Knight Rider - quite tricky but have completed it quite a few times.
There-s probably more but i can't remember!
I LOVED that game - a true, unheralded classic, even though it was a Crash Smash. And the music was lifted from Bron-Y-Aur Stomp too.
I could - and still can - run through Ant Attack without raising much of a sweat. And I still love it.
Yie ar kung fu
Knight Lore
Barbarian
hummm can't think of any others right now.
I never was much good at Speccy games but I did have a few marathon sessions on Fruit Machine Simulator 2 and Dizzy Dice :) Not sure my mum would have approved.
Lots. Don't know if giving up on Gauntlet on level 192 counts as an accomplishment...I have always found Robocop easy...I was the first in my school to complete F.W. Dizzy, even though all my friends had been playing for months before I started...and in the near future, I WILL be adding Bloodwych. ;)
Non-speccy...
I've completed Halo's 1 and 2 on Legendary...and I found the IWHBYD skull. Once. Didn't save it, though.
Paperboy...lasted the whole week.
Six degrees of Kevin Bacon...I am a film geek. Having gone to film school helps as well...
GTA:San Andreas. I've completed every sub-game. Collected all the tags, clams, photo ops, ambulance/police/fire/taxi missions, every stadium race (including the Dry Dock challenge...it's hard enough to complete normally without trying to do it with 6 stars and two SWAT vans chasing you).
And all this before the very first ride-the-bmx-to-your-dead-mother's-house-after-Tenpenny-flings-you-out-of-the-police-car mission.
(Once you learn how to survive for more than 10 minutes with 5/6 stars, you're on a roll. Even though it will take 4 months and a significant portion of your soul to accomplish.)
Oh, and I will KICK YOUR ARSE at Tekken 5. *shit-talks* "You fought the Law, and the...the Law won!"
Also beat him to complete Dungeon Master on the ST.
On other consoles, I was great at Super Mario Kart on the Snes, but only on the GP tracks. I always got my ass kicked in the battle mode..
On the N64 it was Goldeneye....I managed to complete it on 007 mode and get all but one of the cheats, and I always won when playing multiplayer...
These days, I occasionally get a good game of Battlefield 2 on PS2 where I trounce the online opposition, but then again I often get absolutely emptied as well, so.....
Facility me thinks
Sir Lancelot
Superb games!
I think I am best in the world at Green Beret.
It was indeed the cheat on Facility...invunerability I think.....That bloody Dr. Doak was never in the right place at the right time...Grrrrrr.....
same here, i did all the hard levels, but that one cheat elluded me. i think i only tried twice or something for it. as you were pretty much invulnerable with the accuracy of the baddies on zero anyway.
i remember the last level i did was the moonraker one on hardest setting, i got half way up the ladder and was shot in the back, i nearly started crying. of course it opened that baron samedi level but that was pretty easy to complete on the hard level. :)
Match Day 2
Steve Davis Snooker
Chuckie Egg
Commando
Other
SWOS/Sensi (Amiga)
Pinball Dreams (Amiga)
Super Mariokart (SNES)
Wonderboy (Arcade)
Ghosts & Goblins (Arcade)
Hypersports/Track & Field (Arcade)
Non-Speccy: I think i'm the best at Allied General and Pacific General :)
Ant Attack
Micronaut One
Moon Cresta
Penetrator
Quazatron
The early Ultimate games - Jet Pac, Cookie, Psst
Psytron - loved this one, it was a real challenge building up your skills early on but it was worth it for the frantic action served up at the top level.
