Both Commando and GB are good games... possibly GB is a bit better because of its graphics; better than Commando's. But playability and addictive are the same!
Two great arcade conversions which both deserve all the plaudits they get.
For me - Green Beret offers the very best conversion you could possibly have wished for on a 48k Spectrum. Technically brilliant, great gameplay, faithfully recreated arcade graphics and fast.
Two very different games but boy oh boy Commando is one of my favourites all time ! Check out the hacked Commando 128k version with the tune playing throughout which is superb and Kommando which is the Czech version which is basically the original game but with new graphics/weapons etc
Green Beret i did get pretty far back in the day and its a great conversion with superb graphics/gameplay and of course killer sheep (joffa ;)
Commando though i just played to death and 'completed' it as in i did all the levels before it wrapped round. I still played it a ton though and Ikari Warriors despite not having the best graphics compared to Commando was a great laugh swimming/in tanks and of course 2 player.

I'll go for Commando. Firstly, I played it before Green Beret (which I didn't discover until Emulators). Secondly, I have some great memories of me and a mate playing this one in co-op mode (one guy controlled the commando and the other guy did all the firing).

Anyway, although I have fond memories of playing both games, I think I'll vote for Commando. It was one of the first games I played on the Speccy. :)
