The Fury

edited December 2007 in Games
The Fury was one of my favorite games on the speccy, however it was rather fustrating - I never seemed able to get past a certain level.

Now thanks to the wonders of snapshots I can save my progress BUT the games is still so damn hard!!! The original had no save game option, it was an absolute nightmare having to start from the first race again.
So my question is "Has any one ever completed it?":???:

I personally think using snapshots in a game that doesn't have saving as standard is cheating. Although I'm prone to using it myself, of course. :-D

Seriously, though, I think if you want to "beat" an old 8-bit game then you have to beat it the way it would have been played at the time.

I understand your point, however - have you actually played the games its almost impossible

I kind of agree but for me its time. I just dont have tons of time to try and crack a game, also with 800 other Speccy games at least on my gadget to play i dont normally stick to one game for that long.

I used to play this game a ton back in the day and did get quite near the end but with only i think about 3 or so races left to go but never completed it. Finally did it on an emulator recently but even then it was a bit of a fluke as killing lots of the cars was difficult.

Still dont get 'the fury' as in if i 'try' to stay in that sequence for a long time it zaps all my power and i then die instantly. Whenever i enter 'the fury' i just instantly get out of it, never did seem to move me far forward in a race, never was 1st in any race
