i have found some more titles that could be part of a series:-

lode runner+Lode Runner (New game set)
Danger! Adventurer at Work!+Danger! Adventurer at Work 2
Classic Trainer+Classic Trainer II
Trap Door, The+Through the Trap Door
Blockbusters+Blockbusters: Gold Run+Blockbusters Question Master

    I'm still not really convinced the 'New game set' was a legitimate release or a homegrown map update.

    Agreed on all. The Trap Door series was already there, but somehow the tag had fallen off the first game (Through the Trap Door was okay).

    Yes, except for the Question Master, which was an add-on and not a standalone game (the other 2 are now listed as a series).
