Thanks Necros, at the moment i am using a USB wi-fi dongle that is plugged in my pc which in turn is plugged into cable modem via a lan cable and its proving a bit troublesome, it only seems to work withinn a couple of feet of th damn thing which kind of defeats the object. Can wi-fi pass through concrete walls ? cos this dongle can't.
Have you got a wireless router? If so, you can connect through that, by going into the Wii settings and well... you'll find your way in there no worries!
Okay, I've had a peek in the manual, and if you don't have wireless, you need to get a Wii LAN Adapter. Not seen one in the shops to be honest, but then I haven't really been looking for it either.
Wireless is the way to go though - great benefits for a small cost :D
Or you can buy the Nintendo WiFi USB adapter and plug it into any USB port on a PC. It's a tiny bit flaky, mind, but it's the cheapest and simplest way to get the Wii online.

There's bugger all to do online (Mario Football is crap) until Smash Bros comes out in American next month, but when it does, I'll be ready :D

Have you played Medal of Honour Heroes 2? It's got brilliant online play: 32-player death matches, with either every man for himself or in 2 teams of 16. No lag too, none that I detected after several hours of play.
Fifa 08 has good online play too, play full 11-a-side matches against online opponents.
Battalion Wars 2 will be released on PAL fairly soon, a real time strategy game. Reports from the American players say the online aspect is very good.
Wii Chess is good online, apart from the fact that games are limited to 20 mins? Why?! Pisses me off that, especially when I'm winning someone and the game then ends in a draw.
