Dolly Parton cancels her tour

edited February 2008 in Chit chat
The poor old girl has had to cancel her tour due to back problems.

"Hey, you try wagging these puppies around a while and see if you
don't have back problems," the folksy singer-songwriter said in a
statement.

Pure class...

I'm sure the world can manage without her for a while.........

......In fact the world could do without her full stop.

I can't stand country music, especially the atrocious bollocks my wife peppers my ears with in the car, makes me want to stamp the stereo into the dashboard.

So Dolly cancelling, is one less hick droning on, lets hope Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney, and Rascal Flats, all cancel their tours.

While they're at it why don't they all cancel their record contracts as well

    rant over :D

    Talking of old singers.

I saw Tina Turna singing on the grammies to night. How old must she be know. Her face was pulled tighter than a scotts man's wallet.

But giver her her due, she didnt to a bad job. The backing singers helped out on the high raspy notes but other than that not too bad.

I like some country music. I listen to Johnny Cash a lot.

Quite an ignorant statement. She does a hell of a lot for charity and literacy programmes.

I'm not partial to her music, so I don't listen to it. She brings pleasure and happiness to far more people than hatred and sadness to others. Simple as that.

Ha ha teamwork again ! I'll give you the line and you finish it !!

She still looks alright considering she must surely be in her 60's ? Seen her in some interviews and she did have a tough upbringing. Good on her for doing well, wasnt spoilt or famous because of rich parents etc

yeah she certainly is one of them women who you look at and wonder if you'd give her one. she's prolly wrinkly up close, but after a few beers, and with the lights down i think id have no problems maintaining a decent sized errection.

I don't mind her either. She has a couple of good(ish) songs.

Now here comes the good news. Dolly Knockers is supposed to be playing in Kilkenny this summer so if it's true that she's cancelling shows, maybe we'll get someone better instead, like Neil Young for instance. We were promised him for the last couple of years but it never happened. That would be awesome. :D

Yeah she does work for charity so do so many other people who aren't famous and don't spend millions on plastic surgery, and a theme park named after themselves.

I don't hate her, I pity her, she obviously thinks she's a hell of a lot more important than she actually is.

....and she doesn't make me sad either, there's genuine issues in life to be down about, and Dolly Parton is not one of them :D

This thread reminds me that, when Bette Davis Eyes was in the charts, someone did a parody called Dolly Parton Boobs. :D

Sadly, it also reminds me of the Christmas when Graham Norton did a special on the Dollywood theme park. I watched it because the trailers promised a roller-coaster on-ride sequence, which are usually quite fun to watch; fortunately it was in the first half (or quarter or whatever), but unfortunately it was shot by some incompetent idiot who should himself have been shot, for the camera was pointing in precisely the wrong direction throughout. :( (The whole point of coaster sequences is to show the ride, not the riders.)

    Bette Davis eyes?

I still can't work out if it's a gravelly voiced woman, or a girly sounding man who sings the original
