The Terminator

edited February 2008 in Chit chat
Just watching this now on Virgin 1. Haven't seen it in years.

I seem to know most of the words.

That's just... freaky...

Well, Arnie's bits are easy to remember though... They're aren't many of them!! :-D

Great movie, by far the best of the trilogy.

And he uses them in all the subsequent movies too. I thought the second movie was pretty good, but the third was'nt so good.

BTW watched Total Recall a few days ago I thought it was pretty good when I first saw it, but this time round it was godawful.

Hey, it's a great film! And when you stop thinking of it as an Arnie action flick, and try to get your head around if it's a dream or reality, it's well constructed. There's soo many things deliberately put in the film to make you think it's one or the other!

Woah... who said anything about them being near your mouth?! ;)

Although I did like Terminator 2 when it came out, nowadays I think it's actually the worst of the three... Arnie seems to "human" in the second one. At least in the third one he's a bit more emotionless and robot-like.

Absolutely, most definately agree with you!! It's one of his best films, I reckon.

And the whoopage against the two terminators in No. 3 was far superior to No. 2. I mean, serious hardcore beating the crap out of each other in the third film. The pure liquid terminator in the second film didn't allow for that sort of fun!

    Yep, deffo!!

It looks like they're going ruin the whole franchise with this new series, though... People just can't seem to leave things alone nowadays.

Actually, the series is quite good (just watched episode 6 today). I like the way they fit the series storylines into the existing films. Very promising future to this series.

And some nice Terminator Whoopage too :D

I haven't actually seen any of it yet. Only seen the ads for it, and you know how it is, if it's something you're really fond of, you always find ways to pick holes in remakes and spin-offs.

I used to get told off at my dads gun club, for asking for a phase plasma rifle, every time I was handed a .22 rifle.

Sigh. Those were the days, dads kids could shoot club guns, without any hoo-hah from the health and safety nazis. :(

too right if you ask me, i saw one of those phase plasma rifles take out a hunter killer. it was a bloody mess, of course it gave the rest of us humans time to jump into skynets time displacement machine..... erm ive said too much.

I was going to comment on how unimpressed I was with the Terminator series (watched the 2 pilots on the Fox Channel a few months back), big thumbs down (always knew it would suck these series' always do). I wasn't actually going to watch it but my wife was on the computer, and I was on the phone to my ma and I ended up sitting and watching it, even though I wasn't going to.

I thought it was cheesy and then it got boring, which is why I wasn't going to watch it.

Also why doesn't Cybernet or whatever it's called send back some "ugly" terminators. They're all supermodels, no wonder people figure them out, because they're all much better looking than them.

I wasn't even going to write this, I was just going to comment on the fact that it took less than 5 hours for this thread to turn into another gayfest

Was never keen of Terminator 1. F'me t'was an already well-trodden path, and the machine at the end was a real let-down. I quite liked Terminator 2, but again, the ending was a bit naff. Glad they finally got it right with the 3rd film. Looking forward to the 'Future wars' film now, to round it all off.

Android was better than Terminator.....even though it was more of a Blade Runner rip-off :D

You know, I was trying to be subtle... but you had to go and blurt it out... You know how Martijn feels about blatant selling on WoS outside of the sales section!
