Kidsplay

This incorrectly lists Deactivators as being in the compilation, when it's actually Metabolis by Gremlin.

Check out the inlay scan.

    Okay, corrected now.

Oh, and by the way, does anyone know where we got the information from that this compilation was published by Activision?
None of the magazine references say so, and neither does the inlay.
Apparantly the publisher was "Backpack", and (looking at the inlay) it was set up by CentreSoft (of US Gold fame, etc).

Does anyone have more info on this charity compilation?

The Activision reference and the original contents would have come from the Crash Aug'87 news item. BACK Pack is a sub-title (Battle Against Cruelty to Kids). According to Pop.Com.Weekly 21-27.Jan'88, Ocean had donated ?1,000 and a game and "will also oversee the compilation pack".

Looking further, it gets slightly more confusing.
The Crash Aug'87 item says the project was "led by Activision's Rod Cousens and Gremlin boss Ian Stewart".
The Crash Oct'87 item lists "Backpack" as publisher.
The Crash Dec'87 items talks about "the release of Kidsplay on the Back Pack label".
The cassette inlay mentions "Manufactored in the U.K. KIDSPLAY, Centresoft, [address]". Of course, manufactured is not the same as published.

    So, um, now what? :-o
