Desperately seeking Retro Gamer!!

I haven't been able to find Retro Gamer round my neck of the woods for ages now.

I went to my local WH Smiths today, and yet again no sign of Retro Gamer anywhere!! It's starting to do my head in... Are there any other shops that usually stock it? :-x

Why not try ordering it from Imagine's website?

    Borders had them in.

yup :) I normally just get it at the local paper shop or off license, but they only get one copy in, I should have ordered it years ago, but ever since every single shop in existance started selling mags I don't really trust paper shops to actually get stuff in even if ordered.

There's always ebay if you can use that or get someone with an account, I did that once when couldn't get issue 14...

Why not ask WHSmiths (or any other newsagents for that matter) to order it for you.

If you've got every issue since issue 6 (so you are a regular reader) why not get a subscription ? Much cheaper, always get the mag and it comes just like Miles. (Early)

Eheh, think I probably annoyed the "Retro Gamer" community in Yeovil by buying all but one of WHSmiths copies. I'm taking them to Forever9 to pass on to people who wouldn't normally have access to them.

The problem I have with suscription is the mages get a battering in the post, I didnt renew as I had a number of mags arrive with a snapped spine.

The only place I can find where I live is a little local paper shop. Luckily he knows that his life wouldn't be worth living if he didn't make sure there was always a copy for me,
    So far, so meh :)

How come you dont get a subscription ?

Hmmm, never thought about it. I think I'll get one, :D

I have every edition so far apart from issue 1 :)

I have the entire run. I win. ;) Subscribed around issue 21, when it became clear the new publishers weren't about to go belly-up.

As an aside, it'd be nice to have some sort of online index that listed any Sinclair content in each issue. Some WOSsers aren't fussed by the non-Speccy content and would then know which issues to seek out.

Wouldn't have to be an epic web design undertaking, in fact it could just be a thread on this forum. I could do it, if anyone's interested...

I luckily got hold off issue 1 before it was then sold out, then sold for crazy prices on ebay but now its 'normal' as in 15 quid or so.

They look good on my shelf, i dont bother with the binder as it seems to cut into the pages slightly and its harder to take to the loo ! ;)

Much prefer it from issues 21 onwards, early ones were good but didnt seem so professional but either way i loved it as it was great a proper retro mag was out.

Impressed its about to reach issue 50 !

Get the dvd version, convert the pages to jpg and view them on a DS :) Numb legs ahoy!
What I'd like to know is why the postie always folds mine via the spine when magazines clearly fold easier longways.
