Title of game=? #49152

edited March 2008 in Games
Hi all. If anyone has a moment (and a good memory), could you help me out with this query?
I'm looking for a game that was (I'm pretty sure) on a cover tape. This was 20 odd years ago, so I can't be sure if the magazine was YS or SU, but the game involved a bouncing ball, jumping left or right, with various power ups. I think it may have been french, though that could be a red herring, and the game was just a little weird, rather than full blown french ;)
I'm pretty sure the ball was blue, the background was black, and the various power ups each had their own colour. One of the power ups may have been a hammer.

Not a lot to go on, I appreciate, but I've seen vaguer descriptions result in answers. I've checked through the archives here, but not had any joy.

Thanks

Oh, and maybe another power up was was a lightning bolt???
hmm lightning bolt, hammer, maybe it was only one of those, and I'm just thinking of the god Thor or something?

I'd been searching for bouncy, bounce, ball, and not got anywhere. Bumpy. Of course :)

Thank you VERY much, most appreciated.

You've just ventured into a WoS in-joke. Hopefully this doesn't mean that 6 or 7 more people will start asking about this game now.

ooops, posted without refreshing above. Just to clarify, yes BUMPY was what I had been randomly googling for these past 7/8 years!

Yes you'll find it next to Nuttella and the Milky way spread for a quid (or $2, or e1.65):D

Right, I think I've seen it. This one, innit?

That looks pretty convincing, and although with some kind of art pro software it may have only taken 10 minutes, I severely hope you didn't spend the hour it took to reply on it.

Don't worry, it took me about 15 minutes, and that included hunting for a font on the internet to use for the last line (it's not too similar, but I didn't have any remotely similar font on my PC). It's not like I was lurking around here refreshing this topic every minute to await your post in anticipation and then frantically start working on it ;)

By the way, I noticed you misspelled "Nutella" as you put a double T in there. Funny, because "Nutte" means wh*re/t*rt in German (some slight self-moderation here). If we had that misspelled version on a shop's shelf, I'm sure it would sell like hot cakes.

What makes you think I mispelled it ;)

What? I am DM! D.M. that is. No really, that's my initials.

I should stop now, otherwise I'll soon take away the "thread derail" crown from someone here. I've already caught up pretty well as far as spamming is concerned.

DM? That's not how you spell XTM! ;-) Those are your initials, right?

Joking aside, I'm sure it shouldn't be eXTreMely hard To ManaGe to extrapolate the meaning of my nick from the "TMG homepage" link in my sig. Regardless of the fact that you were obviously involved in the "inside job" that is 9/11.

I wouldn't worry. You haven't mentioned ferrets or wanking yet.

Oi you can't diss me I've just made myself a chicken tikka "Tindaloo" from scratch and it almost tastes legit, and unlike the curries from back home in England that call themselves legit this "Tindaloo" actually contains some potato.

Funny that how if you buy a vindaloo at an Indian Take-away it contains no aloo. :D

I've been buying Pataks curry pastes, to make mine, usually hot though but I think you can get plain Masala sauce, or garam Masala paste. If you have a Trader Joes near you you can buy just plain stir in curry sauce which is pretty good. Incidentally I don't have a Trader Joes close by, so if my wife ever visits friends in Indianapolis, I always get her to pick me up some stuff from the one there.

Avoid pataks ready made curries though, they're crap, I just know this from back home in England, never actually seen one here though, but if I did I wouldn't buy it :D

Thanks for that. I don't have a Trader Joe around but I do have a couple of stores which have "foreign" ingredients ;-) I have seen Patak out in Byerlies, and will have to look closer while I'm there. I want a very mild(i.e. non-spicy) yellow curry ... that is all.

Strangely enough, according to Google both stonkers.com and stonkers.net exist. ;)

Erm, "non-spicy curry" is a contradiction in terms (a bit like saying "rap music" or "reality television"), although "mild curry" isn't. :)
