Slightly off-topic, but does anyone remember when WH-Smiths,menzies and the like had that scheme (can't remember what is what called) where you chose a game for whatever format from a catalogue and they shot it off from a big machine onto tape/disk?
They just had a big booklet of inlays, and it took about 30 seconds to do it. I was rather impressed at the time (~9yo), and bought quite a few just because I liked watching 'em use the nice big copying machine :)
As you can see the packaging was for everything from a cassette through to a 5 1/4" floppy so every machine could be catered for from a speccy to a PC.
I've certainly got over 1000 individual titles, probably about 1500 altogether at the moment, including swaps, although I haven't counted recently. I'm talking about original tapes, with inlays and boxes, another hundred or so without boxes and a handful of boxes / inlays without tapes.
Anyone fancy coding a swappers site where we can all host our lists (and keep updating them) so that we can arrange to exchange our spares? :)
It could work out / compare who's got what, what's MIS/MIA and required (my list and the MIA list are a bit big for me to wade through to find if I've got any titles that are MIA, although I have tried on many occasions) and perhaps even show what's missing from specific collections (Ultimate / Melbourne House / Ocean etc)?
It's probably a bit beyond my talents, but I suppose I could give it a go if I get some time. Anyone else think it's a good idea, or has everyone else got their swaps list fully under control (in their head perhaps!)
Good price, but didnt have you down as a buyer of this sort of thing.
Very True - Normally I get those sort of things from the computer fairs :)
Still at 1p including postage (no paypal surcharge) I couldn't resist it for no other reason than to cost the seller some money.
On a slightly more serious note about these compilation CD's much has been said about the legality of them and the general thought that WOS et al are having there work ripped off. This particular CD certainly isn't a straight rip off and the author has put quite a bit of work into it. Autoboot and installation from the disc etc. All the material has been gathered from public sources though so there is nothing original on it but there is some 'uncommon' material.
Having said that it does have a large amount of denied titles on it but unless codemasters, Rare etc are going to complain then ebays attitude appears to be to ignore complaints from plebs like myself.
The unfortionate side effect of this is that many of the files submitted to WOS in the recent past and most definatly in the future all have a digital signature embedded in them to help authenticate them in any disputes.

I have quite a few of these "EDOS" titles.
For Example
