If the late-reviewers fail to deliver and leave 'orphaned' games, then I might like to take on a couple more (assuming I actually know the games).
  • edited March 2008
Yeah cheers. I've got obviously quite a lot to go through and put in. Someone might be looking at doing a new format for the reviews so it looks better so i'll have to wait to see how that goes.

I probably will take a day off at some point to put everything together for the first book, quite a lot to do but it should be good. A lot of reviews already for the other books, more the merrier though

I share uglifruit's thought here. Are there many reviews promised but not deliverered? Can you post a list of games that have either had no offers to review or have not yet been written?

Well i was about to put a halt to any more reviews but to be honest i would like to get the final ones done...

http://www.spectrumgamesbible.co.uk/book1.htm (You might need to F5 refresh)

Any games without a name against them in bold are still to be done.

Theres only about 26 so if anyone can take those up it'll be great.

I've been busy with my normal job (working easter weekend, working last night till 11pm and other nights) so its been a bit hectic but i'm going to take a day or two off soon (now that i'm full time and not a contractor) and collate all the reviews.

I've got a ton of emails to go through to put into the main document and then to add screenshots. I want to get that done very soon but its just been hectic for me. Once i get the final 26 I need to check through my emails to see what reviews i'm still waiting for from people who promised them (Dont think theres that many), then once i have them all I'll then paypal all the people and also note the amount raised for charity (some people said to do that instead).

Really want to get the first book out though as i think it'll lead to more people wanting to do reviews for the others once they see the first one i hope

I've sent you Rox 3. Did you say that you would be using Andrew's Urban Upstart?
Has everyone listed on the website sent their reviews for the first volume?
  • edited April 2008
Good point, i'll update the site very soon.

About 85% of people have sent in their reviews so far, i have to go through all the ones i've received (got a ton of email) and then find out the ones i have to ask again for !

I think its looking good for the first one as i've been sent a ton though so i hope it wont be too long compiling it altogether.

If my other activities don't remove all my time today I'll try and post you the "Herberts Dummy Run" review I promised you last week :D

Sorry I know it's the wrong set of years but hopefully like I said a while ago by the time you're done with 82-84, I'll have sent you all my promised goodies, and won't be one of these stragglers :p

    1983

    dinky digger

I could have a crack at Dinky Digger, as I tried to play it as research for FJIHH...
  • edited April 2008
Okay allocated Dinky Dugger to Bobs

Allocated Urban Upstart to A.Rollings and Rox to Jumping stack.

I'm away this weekend but next week i'll carry on putting all the reviews i've got together. A few people i've emailed to chase up as theyve promised reviews but nothing so far.

Want to finish the first book in the next week or two for sure now.

You've got Time-Gate as 1984, according to WOS it was released in 1983.

Paul must have amended the listing or something else spooky has happened as when I've just looked at it, Time Gate's def in the 1983 column.

thanks for spotting it in case it was in the wrong column. I compiled the list and as my other half will attest, I'm not perfect ...

Apologies if it's down to HTML formatting on Firefox and the small screen of my Eee PC. But it's just above Tir Na Nog when I view the webpage.

interestingly, I've just noticed it's in the 1983 and the 1984 columns!

Neither of us were wrong then ... hmmmm ... must investigate ... turns out it's been duplicated in the 1984 column, when (as we all know) it should just be in the 1983 one.

    We live and learn!

You may be able to get hold of him on there since he's a JSW author.

    Just an update

All the structures ready for the first book so i'm now going in pasting in the reviews i'm receiving. Theres a lot to put in so that'll take me a bit of time but its great getting all these reviews.

Still waiting for some reviews for 1982-1984 so given a prompt to the people who i'm waiting for so far.

The book is well and truely alive, i did have a busy busy time with my normal day job but i'm working around that now.

Yeah sure. I'm just filling in the gaps at the moment with all the reviews i have, i have about 85% of the ones people said they will do so its just a case of chasing up other people for theirs.

Sadly just super busy at work at the moment so trying to find the time to do it, waking up this morning at 5.30am gave me a few hours !
  • edited April 2008
Going to have a ton of reviews to send you in as few days time.
  • edited April 2008
Cool cheers. If there are any for 1982-1984 please send those first

    Thanks

Are the reviews to follow any "form"? Is there a word limit, or perhaps all should be split into three paragraphs or similar? Do you have some reviews I could see so mine is in a similar style?
