Infoseek icons requested

As you may have noticed, Sinclair Infoseek now sports an extra set of links in the title bar of each program, displayed to the right, next to the '[tzx]' (Archive Block) generation thingy.
There are 4 links: '-', 'S', 'I' and 'SI', for the 4 possible picture display options '(none)', 'Screenshots', 'Inlays' and 'Screenshots and inlays'. You can click on these to display that entry again, with the newly selected display option.

The current text links do work as intended, but it would probably be much nicer if they were icons instead. And this is what I write about tonight. I made an attempt at creating such icons (11 or 12 pixels high), but the result was so horrendous that I don't want to use them...

Would anyone be willing be make the 4 icons for this, please?

ooh I can have a go, but I don't promise they'll be better than yours :)
    what format do you want?

I can't help thinking that 12px is a little on the teensy size though

    Excellent, thanks for the consideration!
I'm not particularly fussed about the format; .gif or .png tend to be smallest, though, and widely supported by browsers.

    Agreed.
However, it has to fit with the height of the title bar of an entry and even the small 'VOTE!' button is already 12 pixels high...

Absolutly brilliant, I've wanted that for ages (but was afraid to ask), especially when you go through the Archive - Games -Quick Search - Start Letter Route.

Edit :- is there any way to set the default view in preferences ? if not could this be added as a feature ?

well, here's my not very good bid anyway :)

the icons are supposed to have a transparent strip, but Gimp doesn't seem to be doing it right :s

the transparent colour is 000000, and the other stuff that looks black is actually 000003... supposedly

    anyway, this is them

    nothing: -.png
    screens: S.png
    inlays: I.png
    both: SI.png

    [edit] fixed transparency

As a general rule, please don't be afraid to ask. Many of the options available on the site have thus been requested (and this one is no exception, asked by Andy Barker today). I can't promise all suggestions will be carried out, but a good amount will.

Nope, this would require cookies, and I happen to not like such privacy invading things. The only part of WoS that uses them is the forums, and I'd like to keep it that way...

wellll you could always tell your browser not to accept the wos cookies...
I think I'm right in saying that the forums work fine without them, you just don't stay logged in. :p

And they're there now. To be honest, I'm quite chuffed with the result.
Many thanks for creating them, guesser!

Looks great but a little bit hard to read quickly through the icons ... would you be willing to try it out with an extra pixel or two between the icons? (i.e. increase the lighter coloured spaces)

    OR

How about having the icons distributed the same length as the loading screens? (though it might look odd if "Show loading screen" isn't selected) The title would then be equally distributed compared with the info beneath it.

I?m surprised you didn?t notice that the order of the 2 halves of each icon is reverse to how things are displayed.

Guesser, could I please ask for 2 changes to each icon:
    - swap the screen and inlay part
    - add 1 extra transparent pixel at each end (making them 36 pixels wide).
